Hello all....I don't really know where to place this thread, but I wonder if anyone has any knowledge about the town of Celebration in Florida. Last trip we rode through it and wanted to check out the sales office later in the trip, but illness prevented us from doing so. Does anyone know how much the homes go for? Are there any special rules and regulations regarding these homes and living in this community? Any information would be most appreciated. Being 50 years old now...and getting closer to the age of retirement, I think it is time to check out all options.
Thanks for any help.
Tom

Hi Tom! My husband and I looked at many homes in Celebration this past November. We were going to move into Centergate one of the apartment complexes (while we looked for THE home) this March but with the ecconomy and war looming we put it on hold. At least one of us would need a good job to afford a home there. The smallest ones start at around $200,000 and that is with no lot (zero lot line.) There are some condos for $175,000 and up (2 bedrooms) but we prefer a home. It is a beautiful community but much pricier than others in Florida. It seems some other Central Florida communities are going upscale like that too. Reunion comes to mind.

There are many rules and regulations and you do have to pay association fees and also bond fees having to do with the land. Some that come to mind are: your blinds/curtains/shades facing out have to be white/off white, certain colors on the homes, no visible tv dishes, holiday decorations have to come down within a resonable time after the holiday is over, etc.. I think it is great personally but some people would HATE it:)

It is very close to the world. 5 minute drive maybe!

we walked through several open houses when celebration was first being built years ago. most of the homes we toured were in the 400 to 500K range. they may have started to build less expensive models since then to attract new buyers. very nice though.
