Anyone from the UK been here recently and what what your opinion?

Going Oct 08 and just wondering what others have thought as although its my 3rd visit to Florida its the first time at a Disney resort.

Stayed a few nights 4 years ago. We enjoyed it. Nice atmosphere, Central Location and not a bad Food Court.

Phil :)

We are staying at CBR in September, I know that the main pool is closed (supposed to open late September), but there are others to use, and apparently there is some work going on around the resort. To be honest the pool closure wont really effect us as we were at all stars 2 year ago and their pool was also closed but we are to busy with the parks to let it bother us. Hope you have a good time:thumbsup2 and happy planning:cool1:

We stayed there August / September last year and it was fine. The resort s quite large and so you need the internal buses to get around OR use your rental car.

The only downside was a frog who thought it entertaining to use its' mating call for several evenings at 1:00am:sad2: outside our room.

We have stayed at the CBR a few times. Nice spacious clean rooms. Down side, as it is a large resort you could end up quite a distance from the food court/main pool - this has never affected us as we always go off site for breakfast etc. Quiet pools in each 'village' and beaches with hammocks nice and relaxing.

we stayed there last November and loved it. The resort in big but we actually really liked the walk around the resort and didnt feel the need to use the internal bus at all. We mainly used the quiet pool by our villa as the main pool had a lot of older children. The quiet pool was always empty when we went and used it, plus th eluandry room is next to the pool so I would put some washng on then sit around th epool with the boys.

I would defiantely stay here again.

I stayed there in 2003, although the resort is nice, I didn't think it warranted the large price tag that accompanied staying there.

The pools by the accomodation, were old and tiles were cracked etc, and the main pool at Port Royale I thought was way too small for such a large resort.

I think that maybe my expectations were very high for the first time at a moderate resort, and like I said given the price tag for staying there, maybe I expected more.

We never bothered with the buses, but always drove. This year we are trying Pop Century, which will be an interesting comparison.

We stayed there in 2006 and contuary to the above thread found everything wonderful. In fairness it probably has been redone since 2003.It is a large resort but if you put a request on your booking for a couple of the islands you will more likely than not get one or the other. We opted for jamaica as it is a 5 min walk max over the bridge and there is a bus stop right by it.Martinique is the nearest to the main food area and trinidad south is the furthest away.I would also ask for a corner room as well as it is great having the extra window.I uploaded some pics a while back I will try and do it again if I can remember how.You will love it.

Returned on Monday after 18 days in Orlando - 10 of which were at the Caribbean Beach. We have stayed there before so knew what we were going into

Once again not disappointed. We had a preferred room in Triniday North which had a king bed. It was on a corner on the car park side. Very quiet.

The pool was round the corner. We only used it a couple of times but it was OK. Clean and tidy with plenty of chairs/loungers

What we like about the resort is that it never seems busy probably because the different countries are nicely spread out. We love the walk right round the lake, especially in the morning after breakfast with a cup of coffee.

My son and his girlfriend stayed at Pop Century and had a top floor room overlooking the pool in the 50s area. We went over a couple of times and to be honest it was very noisy and the pool was always very busy.

They came over to us a couple of times and thought it was great. Loved the space. They went out on the motor boats you can hire.

We also had a couple of meals in Shutters restaurant. Wonderful. Thoroughly recommend but you do need to book well in advance.

All in all a great resort to stay in. Not too busy and a nice one to relax in after a day at the parks.

Our room and surrounding areas were well kept and in very good condition so I would think that they had been refurbished since 2003
