Resort Thread Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort

Hello! asking for advise for a family trip with kids aged 4, 6, 8. Trinidad sounds good as I've read they have the themed rooms and it's close to skyliner. However, I think my kids will want to go to the main pool every day. How far is the walk to the main pool? Is it too cold for the pool in February? Would you recommend a room in a different building so its a shorter distance?
We will be going to all 4 parks, one day per park. Thanks so much!!!!

I can't answer your building questions, but I live in FL. Weather in Feb can be all over the place. Early or late Feb?

Feb 10-16. thank you!!
You certainly have a chance of pool weather, but honestly, there is no way to know this far ahead. The weather in FL is very changeable from one hour to the next. I looked at a couple of websites, which say the average high is 74 and the average low is 52.

Trinidad can actually be quite a hike to both the main pool and the skyliner, depending on how far south you are. If you are set on having a Little Mermaid room, I would request building 34 and hope for the northern best of that section.

We stayed in Jamaica to be close to the Skyliner. My kids were 3 and 7 at the time. Worked beautifully. I think we were in building 44, so we were close to the Jamaica pool and not far from the walkway across the "island" to the main pool. Maybe a five minute walk to the main pool? It wasn't bad, even at the end of a park day. (I took my kids one night around 8PM after a full day at the park.)

I have gotten into a pool at WDW in February. It wasn't hot - upper 60s, low 70s? - but it was doable, coming from the Midwest. The pools are heated, so once you're in, you adjust quickly and can have a pretty good time. That said, the weather can vary wildly, so YMMV. Caribbean Beach's feature pool is one of the best, IMO, so I hope you get to enjoy it!

We were in building 44 as well and thought it was perfect! 8-)

Thanks so much! I think I will request a building closer to the main pool and lobby.

We were there two weeks ago - were in Aruba, building 56. Literally around the corner from the Riviera skyline station (our room, 5637, overlooked the Aruba bus stop).

Beautiful resort, just as I remember. The walk to OPR and such, however - what a drag after a 30k step day, ha! Each time we waited for the internal shuttle, it blew right by us.

Sebastian's was delicious and such a nice addition to this resort. Lobby and CMs were top notch.

I doubt we will stay here again, we are Pop-junkies, but it is such a nice place and I am glad we tried it again!

I haven't stayed at CBR before, but am interested in a spring stay. I just checked the new AP discounts, and it looks like the times in March when my AP isn't blocked out only have preferred rooms. I was hoping for a standard. Anyway, it looks like Barbados may be pretty close to the Skyliner? I don't think I would want Martinique, because it's not near the Skyliner at all. Am I on target with this? Any idea how long of a walk to the Skyliner it is from building 31, which seems to be the farthest away? Thanks for any input.

Barbados is pretty close to both the Skyliner and the Main Feature Pool.

Yes, you are.

About 7-8 minutes depending on your pace.

A Florida Resident discount was available this morning for a standard room, so I switched to that. I'm reading buildings 45 in Jamaica or 51 in Aruba are good locations. Anyone care to weigh in on those? One better than the other? I see from the map that they are right next to each other. Or any other favorite standard locations anyone would recommend? I like the the fact they they are located between the main buildings and the skyliners. Thank you for any input.

One last question. When making a request, do you request just building 45 or 51, or do you add Jamaica or Aruba?

Both of those are our favorite locations. Some of those rooms are actually closer to the Main Feature Pool, lobby etc than some of the Preferred rooms. Plus very close to the Skyliner. We prefer Jamaica just because of the bright yellow color of the buildings. I have always worded our requests
Jamaica 45 or Aruba 51 and 2nd floor.

Hello! I have a standard room booked for Feb 10-16 and I just noticed the two new winter promos ( up to $250 off & 25% off) on the website. However, I can't apply any discounts to my reservation as the standard room doesn't have any availability. Switching to preferred room was more expensive than my current total.
I don't know much about Disney planning so I wanted to ask if I was too late for this promo? Do you think there will be another promo for those dates in the future? Should I try to switch to another hotel that is elegible?

Just want to make sure I'm not missing anything here. Thanks so much in advance!

It's unlikely that more discounts will be added, but I guess it's always possible. You aren't too late for the promo, there just aren't any discounted standard rooms at CBR now. I don't know if there were some, and they were taken, or if they weren't discounted at all. You can keep checking though. It's always possible that a room could pop up. When the new spring discounts happened this week, I looked for a standard room at CBR with an AP discount, a FL resident discount, or the regular room discount. None were available. The next morning a FL resident discount appeared, and an hour or so after that, an AP discount became available. You never know, so keep checking.
As far as switching to another hotel, that's totally up to you, and whether it's worth it to you or not.
