Resort Thread Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort

I'm looking at booking CBR for 3 nights next May. I use a scooter to get around while at WDW so I know I have to ask for a ground floor room. Would I still be able to go to the Riviera station and board the skyliner there? Or should I request to be placed in Jamaica closer to that skyliner station? I was thinking Aruba as it would be close to a bus stop and the skyliner station at the Riviera.

If going to HS and using the Riviera Station, you'll have to switch gondola's at the CBR station. We prefer staying in Jamaica and using the CBR Skyliner Station for this reason. If you're placed in Aruba 51, you will actually be closer to the Jamaica bus stop and the CBR Skyliner Station than the Aruba bus stop and Riviera station.

If you booked a Standard Room, you will be in either Jamaica or Aruba, both have their own bus stop and will be close to a Skyliner Station. Which station will depend on where exactly your room is.

Thanks you for that info. I had no idea!

Pretty quiet on this thread! We have an upcoming stay soon, what are some of your favorite foods for us to try?

Just booked Caribbean Resort for September for a weekend stay...going to MNSSHP on Friday Night and staying the weekend. We have not stayed here before and are looking forward o trying a new place. What are the "must sees "at this resort and the "don't miss" things?

Hi, I have 2 questions:
1) Does one get new coffee pods, so that one can have 1-2 coffees per day and person? Or do have to buy the coffee pods myself?
2) Are there USB outlets for charging Phones? How many in the room?
Thanks in advance!

Just call the housekeeping number and they will bring you all you want. Yes there are USB’s. Plenty of them.

1. Call the front desk and they'll get you more.
2. Yes, there are a couple by the beds and then some more by the TV. And plenty of traditional wall outlets.

Best way to make room requests? I see people chatting on the app, mailing them in, calling, etc.

What have you found to be most successful? I mainly want close to skyliner (IDC if Riviera or CBR), and upper floor...

Our tried and true method has been to call the Main Reservation line and add our requests to our reservation, Jamaica 45 or Aruba 51 and 2nd floor. I usually do that shortly after making the reservation. Then about 2 weeks out I call and ask the CM to read me any room requests to make sure they're there, in 15 trips they've been missing only once. We have always gotten 2nd floor and either 45 or 51. I do Online Checkin, but skip the room request section.

We stayed her about 10 years ago... Now coming back with our oldest child and his family. 2 kids under 3. We are going the last week of January so the skyliner will be closed... I am not too worried since when we were last there years ago, the skyliner wasn't eve a thing... so we are used to busses. I am thinking maybe the resort will be less crowded as people will choose another location since the skyliner is down... Anyways.... What area would you suggest we request? I'd like to be near transportation and possibly the main pool area. Thoughts?

Since the skyliner will be down, you will be close to transportation no matter where you are as every village has it's own bus stop. If you book Preferred you will be close to the Main Feature Pool. Of the 2 Villages that have Preferred Rooms, Martinique is a little closer than Barbados. If you book Standard, Jamaica 45 and Aruba 51 are closer to the Main Pool than some of the Preferred rooms in Martinique and Barbados.

The resort will not be less crowded at all. The rooms will also not be discounted at all. This resort is more expensive relative to how expensive it was before the skyliner. One of the biggest perks of this resort along with pop/art is the skyliner, same with riveria. Not having the skyliner is a huge downgrade. Plus the skyliner is much easier with strollers than bus and kids under 3 highly enjoy the skyliner. i would probably be leaning towards a different resort knowing that, such as a different moderate and going back to Caribbean when the skyliner is working.
