Resort Thread Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort

I have heard people try but have not hear a success story yet.

I would keep checking daily. Rooms become available a lot of times, you just have to be persistent:)

I would suggest to call as often as you can to just see if there is a different room available. I had to do this recently at CBR (preferred room/standard room) and I was able to "downgrade" when something was available.

Thanks to you all for the info. Looks like we'll get prepared to get our arrgh on, but will check and see if something else opens up. Unfortunately though we have the military rate so its not as easy to switch.

For those of you checking in April and May AND bringing your GC emails with you... Let us know if you needed them as proof that you should get the GC, please. I go in Oct. I hope by then it will just be SOP to give them out. :flower:

I was just wondering something..we check out of CBR after a week and are moving to AKL for 2 nights...do we have to move our own luggage or will CBR move it over for us? Would we be better taking it our self as we want to swim the second we get checked in...what would you do? Thanks :)

CBR will transfer it over to AKL for you. If it were me and I wanted to swim the second I checked in I'd just wear swimsuits under our clothes or pack a little day bag with suits and sunscreen.

Hi! Right now we are booked for September in a standard room at CBR. What are the plans for the playground? We have two young kids (will be newly 3 and 4.5 at the time of the trip) and having a playground at the resort and at least one kid-friendly pool is really a non-negotiable.

The Main Feature pool, the playground on Barefoot Cay, and the playgrounds on the beaches will all be available.

IMG_1837.JPG Arrived today! Part of the parking lot just southeast of the main pool has been blocked off for construction staging, including a trailer. Should not affect anyone's experience for now.

Just spoke with a friend who had breakfast at the resort. I asked if he could see any construction going on and this was his reply: "Construction vehicles all over. Couldn't see much happening though except on the island by the playground." I know that it still too early to see much going on but still thought that I'd ask and post here.

That is inaccurate. We just arrived home and were there for 10 days. The only vehicles that were out around the hotel, were mechanical lifts that were cleaning and doing paint touch-up of the cornices of the buildings. They would keep them in garden areas overnight. Basic maintenance. There are a few small sections of parking lots sectioned off that I guess will eventually be used for construction. I did not get to Trinidad South but we toured each section and there was never "construction vehicles all over"

This is correct, there is very little evidence of construction here. Unless you look for it you won't notice anything. I am here now and can post photos of whatever you like.

Popping down to Disney in a few weeks and just scored CBR via Priceline. Very excited - I'm usually a Pop Century kinda gal. The construction shouldn't have started, but even if it has, it won't bother me much.

Off to read the start of the thread! Have no idea where to stay (or rather, where to insist I don't stay) or too much else about the resort! Time for a new adventure :)

Thinking of doing a quick trip Easter weekend. Probably not going to the parks since I am a passholder and not into the crowds. Just wondering if the main pool is going to be open and if there will be food available at all out there? Also if we are there are on Easter day are there any special activities? Trying to decide if we should go Thursday-Saturday or Friday-Sunday.

They are not doing anything to the Main Feature Pool. And the Food Court, Shutters, etc will still be operating as normal.

Also if we are there are on Easter day are there any special activities? Trying to decide if we should go Thursday-Saturday or Friday-Sunday.

Here are the Easter Activities.
