Resort Thread Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort

Hi everyone. I am booked in a king room (8/28-9/2) at this resort with my 13 yo DS. It is our first stay at CBR. Am I correct that this room category can be in any section of this resort except where the pirate rooms are located? Should I wait until check in to see what section is available or request one now. I would like to be close to the foodcourt. Thanks!

Correct, there are King rooms in every building except Trinidad South which are all Pirate Themed rooms.

Rooms are assigned 2-3 days prior to your arrival so I would get your requests in before then. Call the main reservation line and add any requests to your reservation. This can be done anytime from the day you book up until 4-5 days out.

I would request Trinidad North, Martinique 24, 25, or 26. Any of those locations will get you extremely close to OPR and the Main Feature pool.

Why is it not September yet? I'm so excited to be trying CBR for the first, even though I still feel a bit guilty like I'm cheating on POP :rotfl:

I've put in a request for either Aruba building 51 or Jamaica building 45 or 46, has anyone ever had an issue with not getting the building that they request. I am aware its just a request and not a guarantee, I've never had an issue getting exactly what I wanted at POP.

We've never gotten our request at CBR (request Jamaica 45). However, we have gotten Martinique 22 each time, and that is a great (standard) location also. I don't know if it is because Jamaica is full, they just don't like us, or when hubby checks in, he takes an available room vs waiting for a room that we requested. We usually drive through the night and arrive around 7 a.m.

Thank you so much for this info! I didn't know if I could also request a specific number building, as opposed to just a section. Thank you for the suggestions.

So building 22 is not to far from the food court? I'm not worried about buses as we are driving, I don't mind walking to the food court, I just don't want to walk 20 mins to get there.

Forgive me if this is answered somewhere. This is a real long info thread.

What kind of coffee maker is in the rooms? Traditional filter and loose coffee or little packs like most mid-class hotels have? If the latter - do they provide them?

It was maybe a 5-minute walk Honestly, the walking distance is so exaggerated on some of these threads. I suppose it *could* take as long as some people claim, but in 4 stays at CBR, including one in Trinidad South, it has never taken us more than 10 minutes to get anywhere at CBR. Mickeystoontown timed her walk from Trinidad South to OPR in a trip report that is current on the Trip Reports board, and I think it was 7 minutes.

They have a coffeemaker that makes individual cups. However, it is not a Kuerig style, more like round teabags...
I love a cup of decaf before bed and left a note for housekeeping to ask for extras. She left me a ton, with extra creamers.
We always stop to pick up a case of water though, so I think I'm also going to pick up my favorite creamer as well.
Also, I use the bottled water to make my coffee. I'm not crazy about the taste of Florida's water.

Question, with the new update to queen beds, why a King bed?

There is no room at CBR that is more than 11 minutes from OPR.

Thank you guys. :) I've found people exaggerate with POP as well, I've timed it at POP from the furthest point to Everything Pop and it was no more then 8 mins.

Since we could not score a water view room or preferred with free dining we are hoping for Jamaica 22 since my mom (82 yrs young) will be using a wheelchair to get around the parks and the resort. We are hoping for a first-floor room and I was wondering since you have stayed in building 22 a couple of times do you know if any of the ground floor rooms have the Murphy bed?

Building 22 is in Martinique, not Jamaica. Just don't want you to request a different location by accident.

Yes, there are rooms with Murphy Beds on both 1st and 2nd floors.

Lol! I meant Martinique. You always catch my off moments, dansdad.
We were thinking about requesting Martinique 2209-2212 or Jamaica 4418-4419. Two completely different views but both would get us closest to the food court and/or a bus stop just hoping for a Murphy bed in one of those rooms or something close. I sure wish there was a way to figure out which rooms have the Murphy beds. The touring plans room finder doesn't show the Murphy bed choices.

I have found the Touring Plans Room Finder to be extremely inaccurate, especially for CBR. I would word your request "1st floor", "Murphy Bed" and "Martinique 22 or Jamaica 44".

I just tell WDW to "wing it." o_O

If we are a party of 5, would we need to show "murphy bed" to our requests?
