Resort Thread Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort

How are the beds in the pirate rooms?? I've seen mixed things on them. We always stay at pop and have no problem with the beds there. One person in my group has some back issues and she doesn't do well with really soft mattresses. I know everyone's different but has anyone here stayed in those rooms recently?

If you search and read back through, you will discover this changes, a lot.

We've stayed at CBR twice, once in January, once in February. BOTH times, it depended on the park. Going to and from Magic Kingdom, buses enter over by Riviera, pick up at Martinique, main, Barbados, Trinidad, Jamaica, then Aruba. They drop off in the same order.

Going to and from AK, they entered at the main gate which means they started at Jamaica, Aruba, circled over to Martinique, main, Barbados, and then Trinidad

We have never had the buses split the resort, but I have read that happens at super busy times. (christmas, new years, spring break).

I'm sure others will have different experiences. We've been known to get off at the main building when returning from MK, to grab a drink and then walk back to our room.

Hope that helps.
This is helpful - thank you. The idea of getting off at the main building is a good one. Appreciate the response.

Does Sebastian’s have outdoor seating? I thought it did but DFB doesn’t have it listed as one of the restaurants that do. TIA!

Just got back from staying in the Aruba section and was disappointed in the noise from the skyliner--I could still hear it inside my room. I also wasn't fond of the look of the skyliner floating right above my head outside my room when the ambiance was supposed to place me in the Carribean! I appreciated traveling via the skyliner to the parks--next time would stay in a different section on the other side of the water.

How do you request a certain area like Aruba or Jamaica? The online check in only gave option of near skyliner, near bus, or ground level.

We did it through the chat. I don't know if they actually got it or not because we got a great area (Jamaica, really close to the skyliner station), but the microwave I requested wasn't in the room. They brought us one right away though.

Can’t decide which building to request - only using sky liner one day, plan on using the pool, & will be ubering one day to universal so thinking nearest main lobby would be better?

can I request near lobby without having paid for a preferred room?

was also looking at Jamaica and Aruba, near skyline but looks like u can take a bridge over to the lobby - not sure how long that walk is in actuality though

thoughts?

We were in Jamaica 42 when the bridge over the island wasn't open. . I never timed it, but I'd say less than 5 minutes to the skyliner and 8ish to the main pool, and that was meandering.

How hard is it to get to the skyliner from the pirate rooms? We are trying to book a trip and the only rooms available are pirate rooms🙄. I really just wanted a standard.
Also is the spyglass open yet?

We stayed at CBR between Christmas and NYE. We stayed in a Pirate room. It was a short walk to the Skyliner. You just have to walk across the overpass/road to get there. There's a sidewalk. Unfortunately Spyglass hasn't reopened. However, if you have refillable mugs, you can refill your mugs there. We enjoyed a lot of time at the quiet pool near our room. We had a great time, and the rooms are super cute! Have fun!!

Just wanted to post that I had a really great stay here!! Honestly, I wasn't that excited. We always stay at pop, and we had to reschedule due to a COVID case before our trip. There was nothing available at pop, so we upgraded to CB. All that was left were pirate rooms and the reviews didn't seem great. We ended up really loving it. We requested a room close to the skyliner and were put in room in one of the first buildings in that section. We were a five minute walk to the skyliner and right close to a bus stop too. The buses were was better than pop, and we actually ended up really liking not having to transfer on the skyliner. The room was fine too. Had read bad things about the pirate beds but they were comfortable to us. Liked having a bigger room and the double sinks that you don't get at pop. Now, we're actually considering staying here again next time even though the cost is higher. Nice resort for sure.

I’m glad you posted this. Right now we have pop and was debating about switching to CBR. The only rooms available are Pirate rooms.

Definitely call and request a building close to the skyliner if you do. The back pirate buildings will be a longer walk for sure. We were put in the first building in that section and it was perfect for us. I will tell you it was a longer walk to the main building if that's important to you. We didn't care because we ate a light breakfast in the room and all our meals in the park. If you're going there every morning for breakfast, it will be much longer than the Pop rooms we've had.

If you booked a 5th sleeper and managed to get a connecting room, what kind of room did it open to? I've booked 2 waterview 5th sleepers but when I look through some the possible combinations, I rarely find 5th sleepers that are connecting.

I don't know of any 5th sleeper to 5th sleeper connecting rooms. Not saying there are zero, but haven't come across any yet.
