Resort Thread Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort

What have the bus and pool situations been like at CBR as of late? I'm currently booked at CSR (6/3-6/8) but thinking of moving to CBR after hearing how bad the waits are for buses and how quickly the pool is filling up there. I was originally planning to have a rental car, so I wouldn't have had the bus issues (my biggest concern), but the stories of showing up to no cars available at MCO despite confirmed reservations also has me worried. I was thinking maybe it wasn't worth it. I'm a Disney trip veteran and this is probably the first time where I'm really not sure what to do!

Do we think Port Orleans will be open by next April? Just hoping that some people would move there, so I can get a better discount at CB!

The buses are always hit or miss (but I feel like that's true at most Disney resorts). I was just there over spring break and some days we had great luck with buses, others not so much. It really helps having the skyliner to 2 parks. As for the pool, we went several days mid afternoon and did not experience a wait to get in. I've heard a lot more reports of waits at the CSR pool than I have about CBR.

I noticed as well! When I finally was able to get the website to cooperate, I found that there were no discounted rooms left for our dates. It would've been nice to save a couple hundred dollars but I'm still happy to be going! As it stands, we're booked full price in a water/pool view room. We didn't necessarily want that view, but there were no standard rooms available all the way back in February when we booked.

I don't usually follow super closely for these discount releases but I didn't realize that they booked up that quickly. I know it says the "number of rooms allocated for this offer is limited" but I assumed that was a marketing ploy. Sorta like those commercials that say, "hurry, supplies are limited!"

Yeah, that's true about the buses being hit or miss pretty much everywhere. I feel like CSR is a nightmare more than other in general, and especially right now. Given CBR's size I know it can be tough too, but that's a good point about the Skyliner.

This is the first time I can remember that we weren't able to apply a new discount offer to an existing reservation. If I'd been willing to change our dates or resort I think I probably would've had luck but we are firm on CBR (first stay there!) and the plane tix are already bought.

You can only ever "apply" a discount IF a discounted room is available that meets your current reservation. So for example, they may offer 20% off pirate rooms but really there are only 50 rooms available under that discount. Basically the first 50 people that book that room with the discounted price will get the discount, but just having a pirate room already booked doesn't necessarily mean you automatically get the discounted price. This is always a point of confusion it seems.

Oh yes, I understand that and didn't think just having a reservation entitled me to apply the discount. In the past we've lucked out in that there were discounted rooms for our dates/category still available when a new offer came out so we were able to apply to an existing booking.

Also; over the last few years, WDW has really cut back the number of rooms under their discounts as well.

My family and I are staying at CBR during Memorial Day weekend and I'm trying to make realistic plans for riding the Skyliner to DHS in order to get there at or close to rope drop. Could someone please tell me what time I would need to get on line for the Skyliner in order to guarantee that I get to DHS by 9:30? Thank you in advance.

What day? DHS has generally been officially opening at 9am but actually letting people in around 8:15. I would suggest being at the Skyliner station by 7:15am.

Good to know! We're staying at CBR June 10th-14th and we have a couple of must dos there.

For the 5th sleeper rooms water or pool view, which building should I request? We will be going to to Epcot and HS on difference days. Thank you.

Building 51 or 45 will put you kind of central between the two skyliners and old port royale. Or you could also request building 31 which puts you very close to old port royale and prime spot for buses, and pretty close to the skyliner for HS, making the longer walk only when you want to go to Epcot.

Going to try Garden Grocer for first time. We will arrive on a Saturday around 2:00. We want to get to the parks so was thinking of having groceries delivered in late afternoon evening. Will probably be back to room around 9:00 pm how late will Bell Services deliver? If it is too late can they hold until next day?

We’re going to DHS on Saturday, May 29. I‘d be great getting to the Skyliner station right after securing a BG. Unfortunately, we’re traveling with extended family for whom getting up and going is a Herculean feat. I’ll be lucky if they get to the station by 8:30.

I've searched through several pages and I haven't been able to locate info on the bus loop. The last time I stayed at CBR it started at Martinique and circled around the resort. It sounds like that's not the case anymore - specifically at park open. Does anyone know the current routing? Is there a separate bus for the east and west sides of the resort?

If we wanted to be at the first stop do we still need to be going to Martinique if we're in Jamaica?

Keep checking back periodically for the discount. When the spring/early summer discounts came out for this year I was unable to apply it to our existing early June reservation at CBR. I kept randomly checking for several weeks and was eventually able to apply it to our room. I assume that someone who had originally booked the discount cancelled or they may have opened up some more discounted rooms. It saved us several hundred dollars so definitely worth the effort of checking once in a while!
