Resort Thread Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort

It was very easy to call CBR directly. Had the number in my travel guide. They actually said that they like to take requests by phone.

Actually all calls made to any of the published numbers for any WDW resort are routed to a Central Call Center. Even when you hit the "Front Desk" button on the phone in your resort room it gets routed to a Call Center. The Phone CMs at the Call Center can see which resort you tried to call and will answer like they are at that resort but they are not. It is accurate that the Call Center CMs do like to take requests. :thumbsup2

OK we are just recently back from our first stay at CBR - I was nervous, because the resort gets such mixed reviews, but we absolutely loved it! If you have any questions, I will try to answer!
What we liked best: The pool complex! The food courts (Great variety! Lots of options!)! The landscaping/theming and the room itself!

So glad you enjoyed your stay. You sound just like we did after our first stay at CBR! We were nervous too but since that first stay, we haven't been able to stay anywhere else!

I looked very hard for alligators and didn't see any. All the beaches are now having a fence and huge rock barriers. Looks very safe. I don't know how Disney did this so fast. The paths are not directly on the water's edge, but there are grassy areas in between at an incline. I am writing this, because I was worried about the same thing, but I was not worried when we were there.

That is a relief! It's easy enough for me to stay clear of the water edge or be on the look out for problems, but kids can sometimes be unpredictable when they're excited!

Oh. I did talk to them directly (and the lady said she was there, too).
That makes me think I should not have had that phone number? :o
Either way, the lady was very friendly.

They are trained to do everything in their power to make you believe that they are at the resort you wanted to call. I have had 2 family members work at the Call Center. The only way to actually reach someone at the resort is if you are using a phone that is connected to their internal phone system.

I'm only bringing this up so others reading this don't get the wrong impression that they are able to speak to someone directly at the resort.

Ok I know this week is going to be busy when CBR has overbooked their rooms. We checked in yesterday at 3pm and were told we were upgraded to a pirate room but we declined as we are 2 adults. They stated they had no more rooms in our category, we booked standard. Since they didn't have anywhere else to move us to they sent us to AKL. I was looking forward to trying CBR this year but am happy at AKL as we have a Savannah view room.

I kinda hope this continues next week for are arrival Saturday but want something other than AKL. Partner always wants to stay contemporary and last year we were upgraded to boardwalk from CBR due to the bridge being out

Thank you for taking questions! We leave tomorrow for CBR!
  • I am trying to help mickeystoontown by putting together rooms that have murphy beds, so she can add it to the amazing first post of this thread, soooo would you be willing to share your room #(s) and whether or not there was a murphy bed.
  • Second question is another ongoing update which seems to change constantly: Since there have been many posts showing 1 bus loop starting at either Jamaica or Martinique, going around the entire resort and then out vs 2 seperate bus loops: 1 starting at Jamaica>Aruba>Barbados>out and the other starting at Martinique>OPR>Trinidad N>Trinidad S>out. Since you are just returning, can you please share the bus route that you observed while you were there.
    • What village was the first on the loop and where did the buses go from there?

Than you soooo much!

This was one of my questions too :goodvibes
And from what I understand, as Elliemay2 responded, if we are a party of 5, we are garaunteed a room with a murphy bed. The murphy bed rooms are located ALL over the resort. There is no complete list of all the murphy beds BUT I have been collecting them from DISboard friends that have posted a murphy bed room throughout the CBR resort threads (and some other blogsites) and added them to the amazing list that @mickeystoontown started on the first post of this thread.
Since a few more have been added, over the past week or so, I am going to include the most recent list that we have.(this is NOT a complete list but it is an ongoing project :thumbsup2) Please remember to tag me @SPOERLX3 if you have a room to add:

My pleasure!
Our room did NOT have a Murphy bed. It was in Aruba 52. Room 5258
There was only one bus loop in play that I know of at our time there: first stop picking up: Jamaica.
First stop dropping off: Jamaica.
A few times we walked across the bridge to OPR, filled our mugs, and then caught the bus from there as well. I believe the buses went the entire loop from Jamaica unless they were full already, but we always stopped at OPR as well, getting on at Aruba.

I've been here since the 16th. All park busses have been coming in from the back entrance and stopping in Jamaica first. Disney springs busses have been coming in the front and stopping at Martinique first.

Thank you soooo much, it sounds like they are using the 1 bus loop.
And thank you for turning in your room #'s with murphy beds!

My Aunt and Uncle checked in Saturday and staying in Jamaica. Yesterday they watched the Epcot bus pull into the back entrance stop at Jamaica, Aruba, Barbados then off to Epcot. When they got to Epcot bus #2 was right behind them. My Aunt asked one of the guests getting off bus #2 and they were picked up at Martinique then stopped at OPR, Trinidad North, Trinidad South then off to Epcot.

This morning the bus for Hollywood Studios did the same. Both mornings were early as they were getting there for rope drop. So they are still running the 2 busses sometimes, mostly during peak morning rush.

They are going to MK tomorrow, so she said she will report back what happens with that one.
