My family is going on its first trip to WDW over spring break next year :) we are traveling with three generations and we are going to stay at CBR. This thread has already answered most questions that have come up for me so far, but I do have a question about the OPR pool. Are there cabanas for rent there? Or umbrellas? Or any shade? Is it just first come first served for shady spots? Thanks in advance!

There are no cabanas available for rent at the main pool but there are umbrellas tables and chairs that are first come first served.

We had Martinique 23 upper floor, very quiet. I'd go to PR for coffee every am for my mug (just because I could there was a coffee maker in then room). Walk always less than 8-9 minutes (I say that cuz I stopped for pictures daily and it still only would take 7-9 minutes lol)

We like any of the buildings in Jamaica and our longest walk from the furthest Jamaica room to Old Port Royale was 6 minutes at a leisurely pace. The non-preferred Martinique buildings would be a good request as well.

Thank you very much!! Noting this right now. :D

Just heard back from our TA - we needed to change resorts due to arriving a day early, so we're now booked for CBR! We've shied away from CBR because we were worried that it was too spread out, but I'm excited to try something new (we've never stayed in the same resort twice). Now off to thoroughly read this thread!

oh nuts, I was worried that would be the case. Well, I guess I'll just be an early riser on our pool day! lol Thanks for the info. :beach:

(also making a note about Jamaica and Martinique! We are in the same situation with a non-preferred room)

It is somewhat spread out, but not outrageously spread out. If you take away Trinidad South, it has the same footprint and size as POR. It is by no means a hard and long walk to OPR. Part of the beauty of CBR is the morning walk to OPR along the lake.

Thanks! The problem is, we didn't like POR at all. LOL
We love CSR, and it was very big. The map of CBR reminded me a little of CSR, because of the bridge going to the main building and the lake. I think we are most concerned about the buses and the walk to OPR. Hoping that since we have a longer trip this time, we can just relax and enjoy that walk!

Yes, exactly this!! My favorite part of the trip is that quiet morning stroll to OPR to pick up pastries in the morning, while everyone else in my family is still asleep. It's just so pretty and peaceful

We frequently walk around in our neighborhood to the park and the pool so it's no big deal. However, my son usually rides his razor scooter around for fun. Since we're flying, I think it might be too heavy to pack but it would still be fun to bring. Should we?

I wouldn't. Skateboards, scooters, rollerblades, etc are not allowed on property.

While we haven't stayed at the CSR, we did visit and take a stroll around the lake there. The two resorts do remind me a bit of one another. If you could handle the walking at CSR, then I am sure that you'll be fine with the walking at the CBR.

There are bus stops at each resort village. No need to worry about buses. Never waited more than 15 minutes for any bus except at Christmas once.

Staying there in Sept first time at CBR...We also decided to rent a car...so does it matter what building to stay at, this point?, or is there still a difference in the building to stay? (Have Standard Room)
