I'm sorry if this has been asked....I have not read thru 165 pages of posts. Who has used the laundry facilities? I'd like to do one, maybe two, loads of laundry while there. We are staying 10 days with a down day in the middle for pool time. Thought I'd do a load, so that's less luggage we have to pack. In the event we want to take half of our down day to enjoy the pool, then the other half to go to downtown Disney or visit resorts, I'd like to know what the average wash and dry time is on their machines. Thanks for your help!

The laundry rooms have recently been converted to new machines that take credit cards and are supposed to be faster. You can also check the laundry view site to see what machines are available. Not sure if they take Magicbands. I'll be there next month, and will probably need to do a load or two.

Got back last week from our 3rd stay at the Carib Beach---we were "upgraded" to a pirate room ..(I knew how far away we would be , but once my son heard the words "pirate room" --there would be no changing after that)...Honestly, I wasn't looking forward to the long walks but, it really wasn't that bad..and we got lucky several times with a little boat that runs from Trinidad South to the main pool..actually 4 times the boat was pulling up as we were walking past...woo hoo...

Buses were great --we never waited more than 10 minutes but, we are never up for the rope drops so your results may be different...

Food was good....Mousekeeping was great , pools were awesome ...

The one thing I have liked every time is that the other guests are friendly ...I always sit at the pool bar and have great conversations with people that live local and others far away...

Only complaints were that the wifi was bad , maybe since we were so far away from the main building...and the other complaint was about two guests who argued so much with each other their little girl (8-10) stood outside her room and cried...

We have already booked another stay in the last week of August....

WOW! Now that's something new. That's fantastic!

Thanks for your report. So glad you had another great stay at CBR!

That shouldn't matter, since they supposedly have modems in just about every building. However, I have to agree. We went the first few days with next to no access in Aruba 55 and had to call multiple times to get it resolved. It eventually was fixed, but the connection was awful. We had a much better experience at Coronado in terms of Wi-Fi.

I have never heard of that boat...very cool!

It looks like we're going CBR for most of our next trip... the next questions is - do we spring for the preferred rooms? We didn't for either of our stays at POR, but the main pool there is more centrally located. We won't have a car, if that makes a different. I'd love to hear your opinions!

It all depends on how much you dislike walking. We preferred Aruba to the more centrally-located Trinidad North, but it was certainly more of a walk.

Just an FYI. There are still a few machines in the laundry room that take coins. When we were in the Jamaica laundry room, a guest from another country had no idea what coins to use and had us help her get the correct coins and amount to use the washer and dryer. It wasn't until she asked for our help that I realized there are still some coin operated machines in the Jamaica laundry room.

We had a fab stay at CBR May 30th - June 4th. We had 2 rooms for 5 of us (booked before the refurb), I had requested building 25 or 26 and connecting/adjoining rooms. I called twice and my requests were read back to me. We checked in about 9pm after a long travel day from Ireland. We were given building 24 and on the map our rooms looked like they were the furthest preferred rooms from OPR. I thought about asking if there were any other rooms available but we were all tired and just happy we were placed together.

We loved the rooms - 2463 & 2464, 1 room was a corner room, both had a Murphy bed which we were surprised by as we had 2 people booked in 1 room and 3 in the other. My girls enjoyed taking turns sleeping in the pull-down. We were just around the corner from the quiet pool which turned out great as we spent a lot of time here and the next morning when we realised the Martinique bus stop was directly across the parking lot we were thrilled with our room location.

We were less than a 5 min walk to OPR, we ate here a few times and enjoyed everything we had. The shop was well stocked and having the concierge here was great; paying off room account and rectifying CP being charged to our room instead of dining plan.

The kids loved the main pool, slides & hot tubs but the quiet pool was a better option for a quick swim after the parks at night being so close to our rooms. Housekeeping were great, no issues at all, plenty of supplies left for us and one day we had the 'do not disturb' sign on and they left a big bag of towels, tp, soaps etc at the door.

Buses were average, nothing too bad but had shorter wait times at CSR a couple of years ago. The overall feel of the resort was very nice, I loved the look of all the buildings but still prefer the beautiful blue Martinique buildings. I would request here in future but don't think I would book preferred again.

Thanks to everyone for your help with my questions before our trip especially Mickeystoontown & Dansdad. I hope everyone that have trips coming up soon, enjoys CBR as much as we did :goodvibes

I did my online check-in last night!!!!!!!! We have 5 in a preferred room.....is there a particular building I should request?

After stalking this thread for over 2 years, it's now official, we'll be staying at CBR next year! We check in February 27th and will be celebrating my '15th' birthday on the 29th! Looking forward to staying here. Requested Jamaica 45 or Aruba 45.

We had to switch our reservation from CSR to CBR, is the pirate room worth the upgrade?

Only if you don't mind a smaller bed. The non-pirate rooms have queen-sized beds, while the pirate rooms have the next size down (whatever that's called).

We had the added bonus of a murphy bed in our room, so I had the queen bed to myself most nights.

Also note that the pirate rooms are all in Trinidad South, which is pretty far from Old Port Royale.

It will be three of us (all adults). I would think we wouldn't get a room with a Murphy bed, but is there a way to be sure we don't? I mean, we don't need it and I'd rather have the extra drawer space with a regular dresser.
