Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT Information & Questions-Old Thread-New Thread Link in Post 1

We will be checking in CBR on Friday (5/29). My husband is staying home this trip and my mom is joining my teenage daughters (15 and 17) and myself. We have a standard view room booked. Since neither daughter wants to share a bed with my mom and the availability of Murphy beds is uncertain for a party of 4, I'm thinking of bringing a twin size air mattress. It has the a built in pump and measures 75x38x18 when inflated. Will this fit somewhere in the room?

This is our first time staying at CBR (yeah to queen sized beds!!) and we are really excited. Coming from Alaska, a beach theme is appreciated!

I'm sure it will. We stayed at CSR last year and we had one of those double high self inflating twin air mattresses and it fit fine. CBR rooms are actually slightly bigger so in sure it will fit

So glad I found this thread! We are staying September 3-13 for FD and tried to book at CBR in a standard room the first of May, but they were sold out! I booked us at CSR, which we do love, but was hoping to try out CSR this year. I checked frequently on the website for room availability and today pixie dust was sprinkled upon us!I was able to secure a standard room for our dates this morning!! I called in to make our room request and now can't wait til September 3rd! This will be our first time staying at CBR and are excited to check it out since the refurb.

Odd question, do the safes cost money to use? Being able to put my laptop and small electronics in there would be awesome. Just wondering if there is an additional cost that I need to add in.

No one told me you can watch fireworks from the pool! What a great view we had of fireworks last night while swimming. It was completely amazing.


We left this morning. My official opinion is CBR is hands down the best value for the money. So many things about it made me feel like that hotel room was a steal. It felt a lot more upscale than POR and POFQ. I felt it offered a lot more to do. The rooms are beautiful. The beaches were so relaxing. The staff was above and beyond friendly and helpful. The food was food court food. Eh. The mango smoothies were really good though. Perfect for sipping in a hammock!

I am so glad we chose CBR this time.

I have a question for all of you that have requested and received Jamaica. We were lucky today to find an inexpensive direct flight. Unfortunately rather than getting in around 11 am it will be around 4pm. Will this hurt our chances?

IMHO, no it will not. Rooms are assigned 2-3 days prior to your arrival so it doesn't matter when you arrive. If someone arrives before you and doesn't like their room location the CM will first offer up any unassigned rooms first. Their very last option will be to offer up a room that hasn't been checked into yet. So in theory, it is possible that you'd lose your room but highly unlikely.

Somehow despite all of my research I also had no clue you could see Illuminations from CBR. And even hear the music! We watched a couple times from the bridge or on the OPR side as we happened to be there. It was a nice surprise.

If anyone plans to be there over the summer, there is a great view of the frozen summer fun fireworks from the middle of the main pool.

We've had luck at Jamaica, Trinidad North, and OPR Main pool.

A little late addition--- CBR's renovated room from August 2014. We loved it! Loved it before- but love it even more now, they are beautiful ! Honestly don't remember if it's Jamaica or Aruba lol because we've stayed there four years in a row & I never remember which building we stay in - my guess is this was from Jamaica?

11PM for the Main Feature pool. The leisure pools don't close.

I'm seriously contemplating adding another day to the beginning of my trip. I check in the 4th and I really want to go a day early.

Cons
$190 - I'm searching for the person who added a night for $83!
Kids start school on the 27th of August so they would only go to school for 5 days before I pulled them out.

Pros
Another Night!
I can fit in mini golf
Another night of FDing
They are nowhere near behind, they will only be in 2nd and 3rd grade.
6 days in school isn't much more than 5 days.

Help me decide!

Sounds like you already did!!!

You can't put a price or time limit on fun that you and your kids will have together. My oldest son came home after boot camp and wanted to go to WDW. The memories that you make now will last forever.

I completely agree. We didn't start going until our kids were older and some of our best memories are from the trips when our daughters were in their late teens/early twenties.
