We will be staying at CBR for the first time in July. I'm so excited to try this resort now that it can accommodate our family of 5. This thread has been so informative, and has gotten me so excited to try out CBR. I have requested Jamaica #44 or #45. Thanks!!

I booked my reservation back in December, and tried to add the Summer Discount when it was released with no luck. Unfortunately, there were no rooms available for the discount. I've been checking frequently, and luckily a standard room came up available under the Summer Discount. I'm so happy that I was finally able to get the discount applied to our reservation. It saved me almost $300! Be persistent and keep checking, as availability changes.

Thanks again for such and informative thread.

We booked a preferred room for 1st week of November, I was planning 2016 but we had such a life changing few months you realize that childhood memories need to be made as often as possible. My DD 7 recently battled bacterial meningitis and by the grace of God recovered. She has experienced after effects of joint/muscle pain and can't walk as much or tolerate much of it without pain, but we have been talking about a return trip since her 1st time 2yrs ago. We planned hoping it's not too hot nor too cold, and we can rest as much as she needs.
I will try to ask for a 1st flr room, but what building should we request to be near bus and main pool? Specific room if you have an idea. TIA. ☺️
I don't remember if Trinidad North is preferred, but it is close to OPR. Martinique is preferred and costs more. God Bless your daughter. Sounds like a fighter.

All of T North is Preferred.

Every single room, meaning there are no "Water View" rooms there?

I guess a good follow-up question is if anyone can point me to a list of what room types are available at what buildings. Thanks!

Read the 3rd post in this thread. Actually everyone should read the first few posts in the FAQ threads. Lots of questions are answered there.

There sure are water view rooms.

I am leaving the Pirate Themed Rooms out of the following statement:

Every building will have some Water View and King rooms. That includes Preferred and Standard.

Every building in the Pirate Themed section will have some Water View rooms.

That tells me where preferred rooms are, but not water view (unless I read it too quickly).

We checked "Trinidad North" and "Ground Floor" on our online check-in, so here's hoping for the best!

Yes some of the rooms in Trinidad North are Water View but all of the rooms in Trinidad North are Preferred.

OPR Breakfast Question:

Do they sell bagels/english muffins as well...they aren't listed on the menus I have been looking at.

Did you book Water View or Preferred? It sounds like you booked Water View so Trinidad North is a request. You could get it or you could be anywhere else with a water view.

I just had a thought and I'll bet the bean counters have had the same thought. I've seen a lot of questions about booking Water View and/or Preferred at CBR and POR. I will not be surprised when Preferred Water View becomes a bookable category at the Mods. And they'll do it for a mere $25.00 per night more than a Preferred room during Value Season!

Water view. Your other post made it sound like there were no non-Preferred rooms in Trinidad North.

All of Trinidad North is in the preferred category. There are no non-preferred rooms in Trinidad North. There are water view rooms there, but they are not a separate bookable category in Trinidad North. Does that make sense? Since you booked a water view, you are guaranteed a water view room somewhere on property. You can request Trinidad North, but there's no guarantee you'd get it. HTH :)

Still confused! Since we booked a Water View room and NOT a Preferred room, does that mean our request for Trinidad North was a complete waste?

Not a waste, but it's not a guarantee either. Sometimes they grant free upgrades, but just don't count on it. Be prepared for getting a water view room in a non-preferred building (i.e. Jamaica or Aruba). Take a look at the map on the fist page and figure out which non-preferred buildings appeal to you.

As @CJK said, not a waste. But it is somewhat unlikely to be granted as it would technically be an upgrade. When it comes to Preferred vs Water View I always recommend booking the one you want the most and then requesting the second.

And not that you asked, but our opinion on views at the values or moderates is that we don't feel the extra $$ is worth it. To actually enjoy said view you would have to leave your blinds open. With the exterior hallways, and peoples inherent curiosity, you will have people looking in your room as they pass by. So we would much rather step out of the room and walk 10-15 steps and take in the view. Or grab a hammock by the beach, etc.

Now the rare times we stay deluxe, we will always pony up extra $$ for a view so we can enjoy it while sitting on the balcony.

So back to my original question...does anyone know where I can find a list of what room types are available in what buildings?
