Disney's Bolt DVD

My DD, GD and I stopped at the store today so my DD could pickup a copy of Twilight today and what did I spot on display. Disney's Bolt!!!

I thought this was not being released until the 24th???? I asked one of the salespeople and they stated they had permission to sell it already???? I did not relealize they could do this. Oh well to show how much this affected me purchasing this early, my DD purchsed the Blue Ray and I purchased the deluxe edition with digital copy. Not too many people liked this but I thought it was cute, and my GD loved this

hmmm... I remember when I worked at the Disney store if anyone was selling Disney DVD's before their release date they could lose their license. We had a number we could call to turn them in and everything. Congrats on getting your Bolt early though! I'm jealous. I know that it comes out on blu ray tomorrow and standard DVD Tuesday. I went to get Twilight today, but no Bolt there.

I looked at Target and they did not have it. I did find it today at Walmart.

I rented it from Redbox today.

I also saw it at Walmart yesterday.

There was a thread last evening about this also- No one really had an answer but it seems that it is out all over.

Hah, I knew this was fishy

I made the comment and the clerk acted funny, special permission my eye. But I will not turn them in as sinced they closed the DS in our area last year my acess to the movies is limited. I mean I could go to the mall but they over charge.

Apparently the Wal-Marts across the country released it early, though they can now face "release date violation" fines, and they MAY potentially lose future Disney deals. In reality, WalMart probably knows that Disney's not going to pull their product from such a huge chain, but it's possible.

My brother theorizes that Disney secretly OKed it so that Bolt's sales could look better compared to Twilight.

Sunday was a special release day, they have been advertising it on TV for weeks, two disk pack. Side note-- Bolt is the best animated movie in years from any movie house (Disney, Pixar, Dream Works, etc...), my kids love this movie and so do I, it should have beat Wall-E for the Oscar. Great characters, great lines, great message, and just down right entertaining.

The commercials all say it was being released early in a two pack. (disney commercials, not walmart)

Blu Ray was released on the 22nd, DVD on the 24th. My wife had an argument with a Target employee about this. We went into another Target and got it from there. Then we were at Walmart later in the evening and they had the DVD out but not the Blu Ray. It seems like reading comprehension is not a requirement at these stores.

my kids saw bolt at the theater with my mom, and i knew nothing about it other than it was about a dog. after reading your post, i am going to buy it so we can watch it on our long drive to florida!
