We have been to Disney several times, but never to the Boardwalk. We don't have dinner reservations but are watching for something to come up.

Are there fun things for kids to do? Or is it more adult?

It's like a small version of DS as far as shops and restaurants are concerned. As far as entertainment for kids, it's super kid friendly!! During certain hours of the day, they bring activities out onto the lawn (hula hoops, balls, etc.) and at night, they play Disney movies on a big screen out on the lawn! There's also family friendly entertainment right on the Boardwalk, usually a magician and sometimes other entertainers as well. I personally love the Boardwalk and make it a point to visit (multiple times!) when I'm in Disney!

Sounds like we need to check it out! Any recommendations on where to eat with little ones? Ages 1 and 3.

We had a great time walking over to the boardwalk for the evening from the Yacht Club. We liked the performers, the atmosphere, and for dinner we tried the brewery place which was ok, we liked getting a pizza from the window.. $20 for a large cheese and it was ready in one second. We took it across and sat at a cute red metal table and ate. DD 1 stayed in her stroller, and DD 3 sat at the table with us. They give lots of packs of parmesean which was nice. It's too pretty there to be couped up in the restaurants or sitting there waiting on service. I recommend the pizza window. The box even has the characters on it. It tasted good.

and for dessert a new ice cream place opened right there on the boardwalk.. it was under construction when we were there. they have cones that are made of cookies.. i forget the name, it looks good! My kids loved running around.. and i did too at the big grassy area, you can't miss it. We went into the little art boutique, which is great by the way, just to see all the gorgeous paintings, and then walked out and let the kiddies loose on the grass. One of my favorite moments. They have movie night there, and did at the time.. we just ran around behind the small group of kids watching it. Nice ambiance. Look up if DHS will be having their Galactic Fireworks, then go over to the Yacht and Beach to see it over the boardwalk.. incredible!!!! Better than any other disney fireworks show except NYE of course, and you can see a little of Epcots too. You can also rent a 4 person surrey bike and ride it along the boardwalk, across the bridge and over to the Yacht and Beach Club boardwalk.

there is also a BW food place, hot dogs, chili dogs, fries etc. Big trailer looking thing right on the BW (someone will provide the name I am sure!)

there are little tables to eat and fun food. may be touch with little little ones though. Nice to take back to room too!

If you want a TS restaurant, Trattoria al Forno is very good. But as other PP's have noted, between the Boardwalk Bakery, the pizza window, the food kiosks and Ample Hills Creamery, you can put together a great QS meal without having to make an ADR.

Ok great to hear. I got a reservation to Trattoria but not sure if we will keep it. It's at 5:00. Is this place pretty kid friendly?
