Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

I know BWI is still closed but has there been any info on a possible opening date? We were supposed to go last May but pushed it off for a whole year until end of May 2021. Didn't think Covid would still be an issue by then but sure seems like it will be. I'm nervous because I heard Beach Club would be reopening around May and they announced that a few weeks ago........ so if Disney needs that long between announcement and opening to "get ready" does it stand to reason that even if they DID annouce an opening data soon that that date will be in June or July?

No and it is about the same size as the remaining WL regular Hotel rooms.

The BWI has 378 rooms so without a requirement for increased capacity on Crescent Lake there is little reason to open the BWI.

I’m here now and the slide is open! My kids enjoyed it. I honestly like the new artwork. I know it’s not to everyone’s taste.

I have had a less than magical first day here involving issues with my room, and looking at that cute artwork made me smile

hope your room issues were resolved...nothing worse than having to deal with that..happened to me last year at BC. I hated wasting hours to get it resolved.
how are things there..we go a week from today...have a great time

Loved our (my mom and I) stay at BWV over Christmas so much that I'm trying to rent points for there again for my solo trip in June! It'll be my first time doing Disney solo and I just found BWV so convenient and easy to get around. The familiarity will be nice.

That's two stays at Coronado, two stays at VGF, one stay at Kidani, and one stay at BWV. I've loved them all, but I'm kind of thinking BWV might be my "home" down there. I love being within walking distance of two parks.

We like that area too for the convenience....the villas at OKW are bigger..but the ease of two parks in walk distance is the key

There was a horrible smell in our bathroom that was making some of my family nauseous. We tried to put up with it bc we were only there for 1 night but we couldn’t stand it. And the water in both sinks barely trickled out

I called (first time in my life I’ve ever complained about a room). They were able to give us another room but it would be “several hours” before anyone was available to assist us with moving the luggage. My husband was in the pool with the kids and I was dressed. I did not see any point in him getting dressed to do it, and getting the kids out of the pool and having them standing around wet and waiting wasn’t good either.

So the front desk got me a luggage cart and I packed all our stuff, loaded it on, and moved it all myself. It was quite frustrating.

When I went to pack up, there was actually a maintenance man in there working on the bathroom and he agreed there was a big problem with the room.
Considering the room had a true issue and it wasn’t just me being picky, I really thought the could have provided luggage assistance sooner than “several hours”.

And it sounds as though Housekeeping should have noticed and reported it before you moved in!

Hello All,
Please overlook my current tag logo of BC, as of 1:45 today (after being on hold from 8:30 until then) my eye and booking (at rack rate) was at BC. I was hoping to get a 1 BD Villa over there with the new promo but they were gone this morning. But when I DID get through the lady offered me a 1 Bedroom Villa here at BW and a $285 credit so I said YES,YES,YES! I have to admit I know NOTHING about BW and have never stayed in a villa. Last year we were due to stay at Poly as a "bucket list trip" that never happened for 8 days/7 nights then DH suggest a 6 day/5 night someplace else this year since Poly is under construction. I promise to sit and read through MOST of the pages here (especially the first few and the last few) to see what all is open or not open yet! Just wanted to say hello since NOW I can focus on the last 1 1/2 hrs of work and jump off here also! (I tell you what, being on hold and listening to Disney music all day wasn't bad...it was just that it was repeated so MANY times)! LOL

The BC is really nice but for me there is just something about BWV. We just love it there! I hope you will enjoy it too.

....we'll miss you over at the BC/YC thread but that's awesome that you got a great deal! Check your mail, because I sent you a PM...BTW, the Flying Fish is amazing. Trattoria al Forno is pretty good for dinner - the breakfast is WAAAAAY better though.
