Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

The INSIDE of our room on the hotel-side was in perfect condition. Looked like they were working on the inside courtyard exteriors when we were there last week. It will probably be difficult for them to work on the side where our room was located being the bus walkway and that huge tree are on that side. They'll probably save them for last.

I will be at BWV Nov. 14-19! Does the pool have lifejackets or floaties for kids? We are flying and I am trying to pack up the whole house! :D Thanks!

Are the renovations going on on both sides? It looks like the BWV rooms have been updated recently?
All the pools have various sized life jackets for kids.

Our balcony had mildew also, and it the outside of the building was filthy. I thought the pool slide steps could have used a good pressure washing as well. I was kind of disappointed in that, there was a time when Disney was #1 in terms of upkeep and cleanliness. To be fair they were quick to clean the walkways after the storms at night.
The inside of the studio was very clean though.

FYI just got the construction letter in my mail yesterday for our stay January 28-February 3rd

I might be the current leader for latest stay while receiving the dreaded letter

I'm nervous about november. Does your letter have an e-mail contact?

I check into BWV tomorrow. After my disappointment with the Poly I'm hoping for the Boardwalk renovations don't spoil things further.

Has anyone gotten a construction letter for the last week in October? I'm thinking back on my mail, and I think I may have thrown away a Disney letter thinking it was junk mail for a credit card.

Does anyone have experience with having any Amazon Pantry order delivered to the BWI? I have read the thread on this topic, which indicates that resorts with convention centers (of which the BWI is one), have fees associated with doing this, but I thought I read here somewhere that people had received orders without a fee. Thanks.

We had water from Staples delivered and were not charged a fee. I called before to check and they lady I spoke with said there would be no fee. I had also heard the convention hotels like, Coronado charge a fee. But we were not charged at BW.

A group of 4 adults will be spending a week at the BWI CL and we will be staying in a deluxe room. I know the rooms on the 3rd floor have larger balconies than those on the 4th floor but how much larger? Would we have enough room for all of us to sit out on the balcony at the same time? I'm going to assume the deluxe rooms on the 4th floor have just the one chair like the rest of the boardwalk rooms on that floor but do the deluxe rooms on the 3rd floor have 4 chairs? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I keep going back and forth between what floor to ask for and just can't make up my mind :)

I don't think so. There's only two chairs, and I think it would be tight for four to sit even if they did. This isn't the best picture, but it should give you an idea to compare the people walking on the BW to the balcony above them on the 3rd floor and the smaller balconies on the 4th.

Ps -- the inside of the rooms are great!

This is Perfect!! Thank you so much, if only every problem could be answered so easily. We almost always stay at the BWI CL but have always thought it would be a waste of space for just the two of us but this trip will be four adults so we figured why not use the extra room. I will show this to the rest of the group but I don't think the small amount of extra balcony room would be worth it for the hike up and down stairs to get to the lounge everyday. Thanks again!

Haven't received a survey on our stay at BWI. Got one within the first week home on our previous 2 stays. Guess they are tired of hearing the negative stuff.

What was so bad anout your stay? We just booked a room. I was wondering if we should switch.

I really don't have anything bad to say about BWI. I commented earlier that I thought everyone should be glad they are doing the outside improvements because that is where there is a problem. Our balcony needed a LOT of work done on it. We like to sit out on our balcony and have our morning coffee, which we did anyway, but it looked really "run-down" compared to the inside of the rooms. That's what the are working on now, the outside, and it really does need working on. We just happened to get a room (5293/standard view) that has not been completed yet. It had a great view of the DHS fireworks though.
If the balcony isn't that important to you I would highly recommend BWI, especially with a discount. We often stay at Swan/Dolphin but this stay at BWI was actually less than their rates this trip.

We just upgraded from CBR to Boardwalk Villas by renting points. Trying to get all the info I can here on this thread! There's a lot of great information here.
