Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

The lobby. .all decorated and looking so festive...well except for those creepy chairs!! Lol..View attachment 139305
I don't know how I missed your review and pics but somehow I did. :upsidedow I'm happy to hear that there's room for some BWI love.:cloud9: The pic of the fireplace brings back so many memories. It's one of my favorite places to take a family photo every time we stay there.

Some thoughts on the rehabbed 1BR:

The wood floors in the living room are an odd choice. They look nice, and are probably easier to clean, but after a long day of walking, carpets would be really nice.

I thought so too! My feet weren't so happy with the first step down onto the hard floors when I took my shoes off.

The wood floors in the living room are an odd choice. They look nice, and are probably easier to clean, but after a long day of walking, carpets would be really nice. It also adds a bit of echo in the room when talking. I'm glad I brought slippers! My planar fasciitis would not be happy without them.

The fridge seems smaller than the old ones. Still big enough for everything, but it's like a 3/4 size instead of full sized.

The new dressers also seem smaller. Still enough space for two, but for four drawer space might be tough. Speaking of which, no sleeping space for a fifth person. They could have done something I would think?

The new TVs are HUGE (in a very good way!), but they're mounted straight, and not tilted slightly down like they probably should be. Not a big deal.

Everything is so new though, it's refreshing. We did some laundry, and judging from the lint trap, I was the first person to use our dryer! The room we were in last time was really worn, so it's nice.

The bed is nice and new and comfortable as well. The new couches are also nice and cushioned well. A lot of "new" all around! The backsplash tiles in the kitchen and the new art in both rooms are also nice touches.

Overall a positive for sure.

We have only hard wood floors at home so it will be normal to us but I do know what it's like when you are not used to it. When we first moved to our house our feet felt it too. Got used to it though and it doesn't bother us at all now.

Are all the 1 br finished?

Funny @WDWKOOK !

Waiting now for MK rope drop. Fun trip so far. We're have a BW view right over the stores. Love that view as always (see below). Not sitting out on the balcony as much as usual, but still love seeing the water right from the room. More to follow...

Great view! We are booked in a BW view for our upcoming trip too! Can I ask what room you have?

Good review. Stinks to hear about the no 5th sleeping arrangements.

Booked some ADRs for the April trip, although I'd rather be back to BWV sooner than that. We are going to try Boathouse in Disney Springs. Anyone tried that yet? The menu looks great.

I'd like to know about the Boathouse too....Looks like a very nice place to dine...

Happy dance time. We get to see we are heading down this week! We'll have our first stay in a Villa too!

Safe travels Angi...enjoy those freshly rehabbed villas! :goodvibes

I love the new TVs and even asked at concierge I'd they knew what model Samsung they were. He promised to get back to me, but never did. While the picture was beautiful, I did have some problem hearing the audio.

Are all villas at Boardwalk renovated now? Specifically asking about preferred view studios. Thanks!

JUST GOT BACK FROM 4 NIGHTS STAY AT THE INNKEEPER'S LOUNGE. MY THOUGHT THE bwi IS OUR ALL TIME FAVORITE RESORT.nOT MUCH HAS CHNGE SINCE OUR LAST STAY From Sept Stay. Other than no rain execpt not much rain &* warmer :) There was barely any rooms left. We got a nice quite room facing the gardens which was nice & quite. The food inside the lounge was enough.THe day we were leaving someone got stuck on the elavator but wasn't sbother unless it was you (smile) Food was enough other days not the great of selections, oh well. Down size the boats were lousy due to the closing of the '"lights st the DHS the studios. WE had to wait for4 boats going & 4 coming back . all In all we enjoyed our selves .

I'm curious to know as well, we have 2 studios last week in Jan. I thought the rehab would be complete, but I've heard conflicting accounts.

I was there last week, they are still working on them. From what I understand, all the boardwalk views are done and the preferred rooms on the other side of the hall in that wing. They were working on the standard view wing and that would include preferred views on that end.

We are not staying until October - assuming all will be updated but just wanted to check in.
Also, I misspoke - we are in a standard studio.

Thanks for the update. We have 1 boardwalk view and one garden or pool view...so sounds very hopeful! I'm was going to request they put us across (or close to it) from one another.

Ok, I had asked a question earlier but hadn't gotten a response, so I shall try again :)

We have 2 Studios on the Villa side. We've been by the resort and it seemed pretty spread out...where are the DVC rooms located and any particular building or location we should ask for? I know we'll be hopping over the the BW bakery for drinks in the mornings and evenings and possibly a breakfast pastry before we head out...are any closer to that?

Also, bummed to find out clown pool will be undergoing a refurb :( Anyone ever had this happen, what do they do? Do you just have to use the smaller pool? What about a Yacht clubs pool? Thoughts or experience?

If you look at either of the 2 maps in post #1 of this Thread, the DVC rooms are all in the Villas section on the left side. The regular rooms, non DVC, are in the Inn section on the right side.

In the past they have had golf carts running to shuttle guests over to BC/YC to use Storm Along Bay.

Here's a random question. I am planning to bring a couple of bottles of wine with us in our checked luggage. Are we able to freely roam the grounds of the resort drinking our own wine in plastic cups?

And - can anyone suggest a romantic spot to have some wine with my sweetie? Was thinking on the beach across the lagoon. Will we look crazy if we bring a bottle of wine with us?

Thanks!

Yup.

Nope. And that's a great spot.

And on the Boardwalk, around the Lake, down to Swan/Dolphin, over to BC/YC, while walking to the studios. . .yep, you're pretty much good. :drinking1 Not, however, beyond the park gates at EPCOT or Studios
