Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

I just arrived back this past week from a quick trip which in included 3 days 2 nights at the CL at BWI! It was everything as described and more. They set the bar super high for any CL and blows the BC CL out of the water. I didn't even need dinner reservations the offerings were so darn good.
Please fill us in! Would love to know what the nighttime offerings are now as we are at 72 days and counting. This will be the 5th time at the BWI CL and we just love it. So glad that you enjoyed it as well.

We're staying on the Inn side and it has a 3pm check in. We're still in lobby waiting, lol. I fed our grumpy teen some snacks, less grumpy now.
If I had one thing that I don't like about the BWI is the fact that only once out of our past four stays has our room been ready and that was when we arrived at 5 pm. On two other trips we arrived like you at around 11:00 am and both times didn't get into our room until after 4:00 pm. This was on the club level of the BWI. I hope you are enjoying your trip and safely checked into your room by now.

Well you are in for a treat! For dinner they had a nice hearty soup. The first night was clam chowder and the second night was the best potato soup I have ever had in my life! That came with toppings, fresh bacon, cheese, scallions, and sour cream along with fresh bread. The offerings also included chicken tenders, chicken salad, tuna cones, veggies, cheese, and PBJ roll ups. Here are some pictures as I can't remember everything. Also during the day they have delicious little sandwiches with those sinfully good housemade chips!

WOW! Thank you so much for the pictures. It looks like things have really changed for the better in the BWI lounge as far as the food offerings go.

Booked some ADRs for the April trip, although I'd rather be back to BWV sooner than that. We are going to try Boathouse in Disney Springs. Anyone tried that yet? The menu looks great.

We are booked for June at BWV as the second 1/2 of our split stay. We were planning on doing Epcot that day and taking an afternoon break. If our room isn't ready yet, can we still use the pool?

Yes, you can as long as you have checked in.

So I think I finally figured out what is going on at BWI when I am trying to book. There is a convention May 9-12, 2016. Smack dab in the middle of my trip! They say they are holding rooms for that until April 8, 2016 and the rate they get is $209 per night! Crazy! I wish i could just book with that! UGH!

Hello, our first time staying at BW Villas. Thinking of room requests, what are my options? What should I ask for? We have 2 STUDIOS, one with a Garden or Pool View and one with a Boardwalk view. Is there a particular building or floor I should ask for (besides not ground level). Besides walking by on the Boardwalk, we're not familiar with this resort at all. We're taking first timers and want them (and us) to have a nice experience, especially since we're springing for deluxe. Oh and how do I make said requests, just on the online check in? There's only a few options there. Do I call resort ahead of time? Or just do at check in? Any suggestions, pointers appreciated.

Does anyone have a picture of what the daybed looks like pulled out & ready for bed? I can't recall seeing one online.

I don't have a photo, but you pull on the sofa and the mattress expands out to the size of a single bed. It gets positive reviews, but I've never slept on it.

~We just returned from at terrific stay at the BW....although we have had a few quick stays in the past..this was our longest stay...and we truly loved the whole BW area....I took lots of pics which I will be happy to share....hopefully they are sized properly to post...which is a problem that I have had in the past.......

Did the Boardwalk Ballyhoo Guided Tour...and it was such fun! Would highly recommend it....and a true Disney bargain..as it is a complimentary tour...:thumbsup2

The ability to walk to Epcot and take the Friendship over to DHS made enjoying these two parks even better...particularly with all of the holiday happenings in both parks...Not to mention the ease of visiting the YC/BC to see their decorations....I think this equals staying at a monorail resort at this time of year..and that is saying a lot...since that has generally been our favorite....until now!

Overall..even tho I will always be a GF gal at heart... apparently there is some space in there for the BW Resort too!

I will be back in the next day or two to share some pics...and a few more details of our wonderful stay...:goodvibes

Thank you for posting about your stay, @BlueSkies. It sounds like there might be room for BWI in a future split;). Thank you for sharing your photos with us and happy planning!

One of them even has my name, I don't know if that's good or bad!

For you or the chair?

We checked in this evening. First time in a one bedroom standard view. I always wondered what was down the hallway to the right. Looks like our room was renovated. Looks really nice.

Looks wonderful and thanks for posting:)

Checked in to a refurbed 1BR. :) good to be home!

Went across the way to Beaches & Cream for dinner. :)

Thanks so much for posting new CL food photos. I'll have to add them to the CL chapter. Do you think you'll book your next stay there?

Hey guys! We just returned and the clown slide was OPEN as of Thursday! Just thought I would let anyone know who was wondering!

Thank you for letting everyone know.

The locker room is in Muscles and Bustles.

Good you know now, but don't give up!

Welcome! Bumping your question to the BWV experts.

Wish you had posted this earlier. One thing I never thought of taking a picture of. My adult daughter slept in it. It is quite comfortable. It was easy to fold up each morning.

Some thoughts on the rehabbed 1BR:

The wood floors in the living room are an odd choice. They look nice, and are probably easier to clean, but after a long day of walking, carpets would be really nice. It also adds a bit of echo in the room when talking. I'm glad I brought slippers! My planar fasciitis would not be happy without them.

The fridge seems smaller than the old ones. Still big enough for everything, but it's like a 3/4 size instead of full sized.

The new dressers also seem smaller. Still enough space for two, but for four drawer space might be tough. Speaking of which, no sleeping space for a fifth person. They could have done something I would think?

The new TVs are HUGE (in a very good way!), but they're mounted straight, and not tilted slightly down like they probably should be. Not a big deal.

Everything is so new though, it's refreshing. We did some laundry, and judging from the lint trap, I was the first person to use our dryer! The room we were in last time was really worn, so it's nice.

The bed is nice and new and comfortable as well. The new couches are also nice and cushioned well. A lot of "new" all around! The backsplash tiles in the kitchen and the new art in both rooms are also nice touches.

Overall a positive for sure.
