Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

Has anyone had a cake delivered to their room at BW Inn? I'd like to surprise DD & family with a "welcome back" from Mickey. I'd like it to be there when they arrive, but not sure if they could do that.....

I like ESPN club. It is bar food, pitchers of beer, and tvs everywhere, even in the bathrooms.
Anyplace with pitchers of beer AND TVs in the bathroom is a real vacation, but is there still fighting over the remote?

Three weeks?? I'm jealous! Enjoy!
(That's probably the same week we'll be in Vegas. Hmmm, I was going to say not the same, but both are a lot of fun and have plenty of ways to take your money. :) )

Well, at least in Vegas you and DW have the (remote) possibility of coming out ahead. We all know that's not going to happen at WDW.

Have lots of fun in Vegas, but don't tell us about it since it has to stay there:ssst:

Could you please add my fiancé and I to the list of those travelling. We will be staying at BWI from 08/07 until 08/16. Our wedding will be at SeaBreeze Point on 08/13. Thanks!
It would be my pleasure and congratulations:bride::lovestruc

I don't have an answer, however, I've seen many reference the CAKE CHATTER THREAD for answers to questions like yours. I hope you can find the answer there:)

:)

My dds were 10 & 8 maybe the first time we went. They thought the TVs in the bathroom were the best thing ever. They have changed the menu some, but there are still good choices. Beer is still cold, and the only thing better than draft beer is draft beer in a pitcher.

If your budget can take signatures, our favorite restaurant in the area is Yachtsman's Steakhouse. Over the last 3 or 4 trips we've had fantastic meals there, and it's been the best meal on every trip.

And if you don't want to commit to an ADR, try the Crew's Cup Lounge, which is attached to Yachtman's. It's pretty darn good, and just walk in...lovely bar/lounge.

So funny, I'm the opposite of everyone else - I'd go with standard CL over a 1-bedroom easily! Space is great, but at Disney, I'd like to entirely avoid laundry and anything having to do with making food, serving food and cleaning up food - even it it's just snacks or breakfast. So we love the combination of the regular room (especially if it's a standard CL room with a boardwalk view!) and the club lounge. I love how everyone in our family can just head over to the club lounge in the morning and the coffee, breakfast, etc. is all there ready to go. My husband and youngest son go early, our teens and I join them later - and I don't have to set up, clean up, plan anything - it's all right there!

Thinking of a return to BWI next year for Princess Half Marathon - maybe a deluxe room since my parents will join us and my husband will not - but will wait to see how the discounts look closer to that time!

Maybe it's safe to announce...but I have lots of time to change...I am booked 12/3-12/6 in 2 BWI CL rooms. I bought APs last week and I am SO excited! DS14's chorus and band may be performing that weekend, and I am dragging a dear friend down for a girl's trip as well. Between her and I we will be rounding up my Pas-lettes! (Kook do you still have that pencil?)

After doing a week at OKW, I can't wait for a week at CL this summer. I did love the space and washer, but some moments really feel too much like home. Especially getting breakfast in the morning LOL

Sounds like a great plan and I don't think anyone would ever feel "dragged" being brought to WDW;). I've got the handy-dandy Resort Changers' quill with jumbo eraser, just for you:hug:

What room requests should we choose during online check-in to have a chance at a view like room 5306 that's shown at the first of this thread? I know it can't be guaranteed, but would love to have the best chance. Thanks in advance!

Hi all!
Just back yesterday from a great stay at BWV!
We were in room 3061. This is a studio on the third floor, facing the "village green". Close to the elevator, even closer to stairs. This was a great location for accessing the boardwalk, the lobby (to bus stop), the pool. I did online check-in and only requested "near elevators".
Third floor balconies are HUGE! I can't even tell you how many times I went out on the balcony and just watched the people walking on the boardwalk, sitting in the rocking chairs on the porch, listening to boat horns,.......sorry, back to reality...
our flight arrived at MCO at 10:30am, we were on Magical Express at 11:30am. I received a text at 11:40am that our room was not ready yet, then another text at 2:45pm that our room was ready and we are in 3061. I really liked going straight to the room and not dealing with lines at the front desk to check in. Our bags were there when we got to the room at about 3pm.
There were four of us- me, DH, DS14 and DS12. Both boys had a b-day while there and they received balloons and pins in our room.
While this view was incredible, I don't recommend it if you can't handle the noise. There is a service entrance or something right near that area, so there were early morning "back-up beeping sounds".
There was also quite a bit of power washing happening each morning on the boardwalk.
None of this bothered us as much as people (including mousekeeping) being loud in the hallways. And that didn't really bother anyone but me. lol
The quiet pool spa was not working properly- the water was COLD. The spa at Luna Park pool had a sign that it was not operating on the day I went to the pool.
I got used to not having housekeeping. It was good that we had towel and trash on day 4 though.
The bathroom is very small. It was tough getting dressed in there after taking a shower. I much preferred the curtain in the vanity area at POR (previous trip) for this.
Everyone at BWV was very helpful. My boys wondered aloud if the lady who welcomed us off the Magical Express bus was out there every day because we saw her a lot of times while walking to the bus. I'm not sure if it was cool or creepy that she said "Welcome Home, 'Smith' Family" and asked my boys who was who and wished them happy b-days. My DS14 had to explain to me the long range and short range RFID, which he finds fascinating.
We had our mugs refilled at the pool, and we refilled ourselves at Boardwalk Bakery.
Oh, and there were workers on the canal side closest to Jellyrolls / the bridge to the Swan. We saw them hauling out couches, chairs, etc.
I'll post pictures once DS shows me how to get them from my phone to the computer!
Thank you for all the great info in this thread, and I am happy to answer any questions.

so we switched and are renting points…staying in a Lake View Studio at Poly. Kook, got that eraser handy? :-)

Does anyone know how many of the room at BWI are King Rooms? We've booked just a standard room for our week at BWI but would love to have a King room (Does it seem weird to anyone else that at a Mod I can reserve a king room but at a Deluxe I have to request it?) we've booked a King room for our next two weeks at Coronado but would love to have a King bed for our whole trip. Those who have requested Kings - how often did you get one?

Hi all! Can't wait to get home tonight and read through all the stuff in this thread! I'm staying at BWI July 27-31 this year and it'll be my first time there! I can't wait!

My group has, it was for me and I was so surprised when I walked into the room and there was Figment!

You could select 5th FLOOR AND call and have "Epcot View" added to your request.

Thanks so much for posting about your BWV stay. There are several ways to get the photos from your phone to your computer: You can plug your phone into the computer with a USB cable, you can email them to yourself or you can upload them to a cloud server, if you have cloud storage. Then, just drag them right into your post:teleport:

That sounds like fun! Aloha!

I've asked about this last year and couldn't get an answer other than, "There aren't very many." Keep in mind that you might end up with a HA King. If you don't have a physical need for a HA room, you might find it awkward. If you book a Garden Cottage, you would have a guaranteed King.

Congratulations and I'll add your dates to the BoardWalk Bulletin.

That would make a great tag…if the Tag Fairy still existed:rolleyes1

Just booked our first stay at BWI! Yay! We have stayed at BC in the past and there we can go for coffee and breakfast right down stairs in the same building. At BWI it looks like the only breakfast/coffee is the Bakery. Do we have to go outside through the Boardwalk area to enter the bakery to get our morning coffee and breakfast? Also we booked a standard view room but need to have 2 queens and a day bed to due one person's health issues. Are there standard view with the daybed? I am sure that I will have more questions as I continue my research. Thanks for the help!

Welcome to the thread! Breakfast and coffee and later, drinks, are served downstairs at Belle Vue Lounge: photos and menu are located HERE. All rooms have a daybed so no worries:)

So. This will be my first stay at a deluxe resort and I'm doing it for my bday in April.

When I was booking, I didn't see any Epcot views. Is this because there isn't really a way to book it? Do I just request it and hope for one?

Getting excited for our 4/8-4/12 Bwv (first trip home). I had a quiet night last night and sat and caught up on entire thread. Thank you for organizing all this info in one place. I had a great room 2005 BWV-1B on the corner of village green. Third or fourth floor with a huge balcony. I would love to get this area again and have asked for close to elevator and lobby. What are my chances and does anyone know how many of these one bedrooms there are at village green?

Second question, we wii be checking out oh CR in the morning of 4/8 and was wondering if we will have any problems with MP. Hoping we can go from Mk to room when we are texted it is ready.
