Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

For the most part the rooms are very convenient to the lounge. With the exception of the garden cottages and 4 deluxe CL rooms that are on the third floor the rooms are all on the fourth floor surrounding the lounge. The lounge basically sits in the middle and the rooms fan off to each side so to speak. They have added I think ten rooms to the CL that are a little bit further away down the hallway but still on the fourth floor. To avoid these rooms you can request to be inside the Innkeepers doors which is were most of the CL rooms are located around the lounge. The Garden Cottages ( which are being discussed above) are on the ground floor around the quite pool and you do need to go outside and up 4 flights of stairs to get to the lounge from them. Those back stairs do make it very convenient to get to the quite pool from the rest of the CL rooms.

BWI is by far my favorite deluxe hotel and I hope you enjoy it as well if you choose to stay there.
Thank you. I think I might just add this on to surprise everyone. I know a lot of people are sing it's a lot of food, which it is. However there are 2 or 3 signature restaurants we are planning. And last time we felt we had to get our money's worth. Way too much fried food. I do, however, love the breakfast, and the cocktails...plus we will be bringing 2 teenage boys so I'm pretty sure we will get our money's worth.

We're going to be staying in a one bed villa in January. Have all the rooms been renovated? That would be a major disappointment to walk into an old room. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

We booked a cash reservation after finding that nothing was available with renting points.

Once again waitlist came through. We originally booked BWV for 12/8 - 12, but it made more sense to fly in the night of the 7th. Added a waitlist for that night and it just came through yesterday.

This just made me laugh wondering what kind of spellcheck gives you "Congress" to a variation on "came."

Glad it worked out for you!

First of all thank you all of the hard work it took to make this thread. And for all the replies. We recently booked our 5th trip to WDW for Dec 2017. This will be our first time at BWI and we are beyond excited. Our party consists of me, DH, DD 17, DS14, and DSF 13. I think reading a little of this thread every day will help me plan and countdown until our trip.

BWI is such a lovely resort..and so convenient to so many things including as I am sure you know Epcot, DHS..also dining options at the BC/YC and Swan and Dolphin too...The Friendships are a great way to get around...as for being at the BWI in December...its even more lovely then than at other times of the year with all of the wonderful holiday decorations all around! :santa:

We are toying with the idea of upgrading to club level on our next stay. We stayed club level at the beach club last time and loved it. The only thing was we got rid of the dining plan and that was our biggest regret. DH and I agreed if we ever do cl again we would keep the dining plan and enjoy a few of the 2 TS locations we have been wanting to try.
Is the lounge at the bwi convenient to the rooms? Anything else I should know befo r making my decision?
Thank you

I know that Disneytam has already answered your questions.. and very well I might add :thumbsup2...about room locations when staying CL at the BWI ..just wanted to add my 2 cents about CL...the CMs at this resort are wonderful...the lounge while not large is very welcoming and comfortable...and there is definitely a nice variety of food...one word of caution tho....a few of the rooms inside of the security doors can be a far walk from the lounge...so if this is important I would definitely request 4th floor close to lounge as a preference...

Prior to my recent stay I called BWI twice regarding this tour and they said they no longer have it.
I asked again when we checked in and they again said the same thing.

I know that it has been discontinued..and then reinstated in the past...hoping that will happen again...it really is such a unique experience...and adds to the charm of the resort....
Thanks for sharing that info DVCjj..

Thank you for the reply. We stayed at the BC club level last trip. We enjoyed it very much but DH and I were always drawn to hustle and bustle of the boarwalk. We even had date night on the water with pizza and margaritas. I'm glad to hear about the wonderful cast members. That always makes for a wonderful trip.
I went ahead and upgraded but it's a surprise. No one will know until we get off the magical express

Must edit posts. I hate auto correct >:(

Curious if any Boardwalk Inn folks can share some of what the resort looks like and does for the holiday season. We stayed at the GF once around Christmas time and it was amazing, then again at the holidays at Contemporary it was really...understated (tree was in the parking lot, not much happening inside). Is there a gingerbread house and tree at BWI? What about along the Boardwalk? Curious what the holiday vibe is like--we'll be staying the first week of December. Thanks!

Each resort has it's own style of decorating. The Board Villas and Inn have nice decorations in the lobby area. But only the GF has the large gingerbread house. You'll be able to visit all the Epcot resorts and see the differences in their decorations.

Boardwalk has lots of lovely holiday decorations both inside and out...and even has a small simpler (than the GF) gingerbread house right in the lobby...I'm sure I have some pics I can post....

What a wonderful surprise for your family!! :goodvibes

Until what date do the Christmas decorations stay up at the BW? We check in on 07 Jan so just wondering if they will still be up.

We are going next month celebrating a 40th birthday! Excited for our first stay at the Boardwalk. Any reason to add the birthday celebration to the reservation? I don't want to call and add it and make it look like we are EXPECTING some kind of special treatment or anything. Maybe just better to wait and get a button when we check in?
