Disney's best kept secrets and hidden gems!

Last campfire I went to was 2 years ago was at BC. Each person (kid?) got a free stick with 1-2 marshmallows but if you wanted the full smores (with chocolate and graham cookies), the kit had to be bought. I'm 99% sure it was the same when we went to the Chip & Dale one 4 years ago.

I went to the Chip&Dale one last year and they did not provide free sticks or marshmallows. They offer them for sale. On the website it states "Bring your own marshmallows and sticks, or purchase a s’mores kit from the Chuckwagon Snack Bar."

The story of Madame Leota's ring at the haunted mansion. Before my visit 2 weeks ago I read that it was removed but I can vouch it is still there.

A lot of the little details are great like the transitions between the lands in the magic kingdom. Walt's dog that make a couple of appearances. The meaning of the house numbers on the houses in Liberty square as well as the brown gravel.

Davy Jones's footprints exiting pirates of the Caribbean. The new one I noticed this trip was in front of Rapunzel's tower there are horse shoe imprints and if you look some have the name Maximus.

My discovery on my trip last month was One Man's Dream at DHS. It was so interesting! I wish I could have spent much more time there, but my friend got bored (she said she "doesn't like museums!"). We didn't even stay for the movie. I'll definitely go back next trip.

During Christmas season the Osborne lights are great but see if you can find the Halloween cat.

When original lights were shipped to HS a single Halloween decoration was accidentally shipped with the Christmas decorations. A Halloween cat.The crew put the Cat lights up just for fun and have done so every year since. They put it in a different location each year.

Where is Rapunzel's Tower?

You definitely have to go back and see the movie! It's wonderful, and the history about Walt Disney is so interesting!

Where is Rapunzel's Tower?

It's new. In Fantasyland where the Skyway entrance used to be, near Small World and Peter Pan. It's just a bathroom but really detailed. Don't know about the men's room, but the ladies' room has an amazing mural of the flower from Tangled.

At Tower of Terror, look for the minarets at the top of the building. When ToT was bring built, they realized that you would be able to see it behind the Morocco pavilion in Epcot. The minarets were added to help it blend into the sight line.

Also, in line for the Muppets, there is a sign that says, "Back in 5 minutes-- Key under mat." Look under the mat. There really is a key,

Agreed!! We did that for the first time last year. My daughter loved it. When she hears about someone planning a trip, she tells them to be sure and do it.

Someone mentioned this briefly earlier, but the Animation Academy was one of our family's favorite things at DHS. It's not hidden or a secret, but it's easy to miss - as you enter the animation building, there's a nondescript room to the right - get in line 20 min before the half-hour and you'll get to sit at a cool lighted drawing table and an animator will give step by step instructions for drawing a character. We had Tinkerbell last May. You get to take your drawing with you when it's over. It was a fun break from a hot day in the park

Near the top of the Tower of Terror, there is a silhouette of a person in a window visible at night. It is on the side of the tower that you would face if you were exiting from Fantasmic!

have to look at that next trip. I enjoy riding BTMRR at night for the different experience. I did the night ride a number of times before I noticed the couple dancing in one building.

I have never noticed. Now I want to go back and see all these great things that everyone has mentioned. Great thread.

originally designed an Island of Lost Souls vignette for the WDW POTC. There was to be an effect of a pirate turning into a skeleton and then back into a pirate using the Pepper's Ghost illusion.

Sound familiar?

Not really a hidden gem, but the 16th floor of BLT rooftop is beyond wonderful to watch Wishes from. They pump the music in and have a lovely bar. It's quite the romantic spot if you're there for a honeymoon or anniversary.
