Does anyone know if there is any chance the Lion King section might open a bit early?

We'll be in WDW from July 27 -Aug. 4. We are supposed to be driving home on the 4th. I have promised my kids we can end the trip by checking out AOA in person, and maybe having lunch there before we hit the road. I'm really thinking about "splurging" for the night as a surprise, but I know my son really wants to stay in the Lion King section. Looks like the scheduled opening of that section is Aug. 10, less than a week after we leave. Has anyone heard any rumors of early openings????? Thanks so much!

So the Cars section is "open" earlier than it's announced June 18th date, but I don't know if guests are actually staying in the rooms yet or not. We know the section is open for people to walk the grounds and use the pool, that we know. But I get the feeling the rooms are not open yet.

With that as precedent, I suppose there is a chance the Lion King section might be open for you to visit during your trip, if not actually stay in the rooms.

...just speculating based on the Cars section opening....

I did both ways we have never flown on SW and wanted to make sure the kids were around me.

Josh added another AoA report today covering Landscape of Flavors gelato and the Nemo pool/exteriors.

Thank you for the review! :thumbsup2
Overall, the resort seems great. Sorry you had to wait a while for your food, but I have heard great things about the food court so I'm very excited to try it!

Iagree. I hope to try some things, too; I hope it's all ironed out by Nov.

No, we never get it. We*always* seem to have someone 4 and under LOL, so we pre-board right after the A's. We also usually like to sit in the back so we can get up 101 times to use the bathroom without disturbing others. We always find 6 seats together back there. I still check us in right at the 24-hour mark and have gotten mid-B's, which is still good to get a seat together in the back if we can't pre-board. Though, I have to say...I would not be devastated if say, we were one seat short and I had to leave my 4 kids with dh in the back of the plane, while I sit in the front. Ahhhhh, what a flight that would be.:cloud9:

Nah, my kids are really good on the planes, but I do see passengers visibly cringe when they get to the back of the plane and the only seat left are next to us.

I prefer the window seat for comfort but need the aisle seat (for comfort:rolleyes1)
I think there should be special seats assigned for those of us who have to pee every 15 mins:rotfl2:

Okay, don't laugh. :confused3 Now I need info please. I've been told by many Disney fans who have gone down in Nov. that the weather ranges from the 80s to a high in the 40s. Shouldn't we pack for both hot and cold? What I mean is I want to swim even if we hit colder weather. It can get cold there sometimes in Nov. doesn't it?

You mean you get to sit for 15 whole minutes before getting up to take someone to pee?! :rotfl: This, is why we sit in the back because as soon as I get back from changing a diaper, I sit down, and some instantaneously says, "mom, I have to pee."

Is there only one laundry area? If so, how many washers and dryers? Thank you:)

I am wondering the same thing. I don't want to do laundry when I am there but it would be nice to know. I thought I read somewhere that there are laundry facilities spread throughout the resort.
