I just transferred my booked AP room/dine to the AoA Little Mermaid rooms. It was a +$24 difference total for a standard room for December 22-27.
I was expecting a much higher rate and was able to quickly change my Pop reservation to AoA.

Whats the AP discount on those rates. I wont be getting our AP for another month or so but want to book the room in Jan as soon as they put it online (right now you have to arrive by dec 31) we'll be there Jan 10-13th

does anyone know if they'll put the discount rate on after I buy the AP or do i have to book the room after i have the ap in hand?

I just booked Little Mermaid for December with a 10% AAA discount. I was told AP discounts are only available through June 14 right now.

Will the Little Mermaid rooms at Art of Animation be eligible for free dining if I call tomorrow?

Art of Animation is not included with the free dining since it is so new (I just spoke to a CM in hopes to transfer my September trip from Sports to there but we're sticking the the free dining)

From the pictures the Nemo pool has water in it and is ready to go. I am assuming they will all open as the section they are in opens but I don't know that for certain.

We are planning a trip Feb. 2013 and would love to stay at AoA because my Mother In Law is coming with us and the boys would love the Cars room, but if FD is not offered for this resort, I can't justify staying there and then paying for the DP. I guess I have to wait until August to see if it is excluded!

We are waiting for the same thing for our Jan 2013 trip!

I tried to enter my 30% off PIN for my Oct. trip online to check for AoA availability, but wouldn't you know it...it expired two days ago. So I had to call Disney and have them check. I anticipated a long hold time, but I got through immediately. A very nice CM checked the PIN for me and told me that AoA standard rooms were not showing up for availability with my PIN code and then I asked if they were now included in the current FD offer and she said they are not.

So it looks like there will likely be no discounts for AoA for now at least, but she advised me to keep an eye out for any late fall promotions to see if AoA will be included at that time.

So, if you have a PIN, feel free to call and have them check for you, but don't get your hopes up as it will most likely not work at AoA.

Yes, Smitch is correct. I, too, rebooked at AoA, but the pin code was invalid as there are no discounts or special offers for the new resort. I'm glad that you shared the possibility of late Fall promotions with us Smitch. We don't go until after Thanksgiving so you never know. BTW, you're kids are adorable!

With my AP Room only it's $105 night Sun- Thur and $120 Fri-Sat
I booked a room only for 2Ad 1ch total 253 with taxes for 2 nights. I used my AP and booked 6 days with dining at the Pop it was 1521 when I changed to AoA it was 1545 including tax and insurance.
I thought it would be a lot more.
As far as discounts with the AP
I had to enter my AP number to access the Passholder area on WDWs webpage. I don't think you can book a discounted AP room without accessing that area

Just switched our December reservation from Royal Rooms at Riverside to the Little Mermaid rooms at AoA at the request of Her Highness my 6yo niece. You should have seen her eyes light up when I showed her the Arial room pictures.

I'm not even that worried about discounts since we're saving so much just by "downgrading" resorts.

Looking at several maps, the LM section looks quite far from the main building/pool. We've done POP twice and never thought the walk was bad but this looks further? Does anyone have any concrete info. on the actual distance from Little Mermaid rooms to main building? I am guessing there is also only one bus stop like at POP?

I just booked October 1st-October 4th for my daughter's 6th birthday. We are approximately a 5 hour drive away so it's the perfect amount of time, IMO, for a Disney vacation. We did 3 nights in 2010 and were exhausted by the end of it...lol.

We booked a Bounceback, last year, w/FD for this Sept. 15 for 7 nights. When we found out the Little Mermaid rooms were opening up that very day we decided to call this morning to see if the Bounceback would be available for them and to our surprise they were so we are now staying at the AofA with FD on the very first day the Little Mermaid rooms open!!!
