gotta say this is my favorite stay here so far. bummed we weren't able to book a safari view. we were put in a room surrounding the lobby, right at the entrance to the bridge on the 5th floor. and well........ with this view i don't mind not seeing the animals at all.

Very excited for my family trip to AKL this December! We have a Savannah view room currently booked with 3 people. We might add a 4th person for 2 nights depending on if he can get off work. The Disney phone rep I booked my trip with suggested we leave him off the reservation and check him in at the front desk once he arrives (and pay the extra $$/night) if he is able to come.

However, I'm a little concerned about the room we could get. Could we possibly get a room with a king bed and a daybed/sofa if we only book a reservation for 3 guests? If I call back and increase our party to 4 guests the entire time to be on the safe side, are we guaranteed either 2 queen beds or 1 queen/king and bunk beds? I'm unfamiliar with the room layouts at AKL, so any advice is welcome!

I wouldn't add him to the reservation. I would just wait until he gets there. You can call and have them put a note on the reservation that you want 2 Queen beds instead of a King/Daybed arrangement. The bunk beds are a separate category room. You can also verify the room arrangements when you check in and request a different room. (The earlier you arrive the easier it will be to change rooms if necessary.)

Hello Everyone!
I have a friend traveling in about 60 days and her online check in opened up. She is booked in a Savanah View with bunk beds. She has 2 little ones so she doesn't want to be too far from transportation but at same time, have a good view if possible. Which options should she pick during online check in?
Options are: upper floor, ground floor, Lower floor, near elevator, near lobby....
Also, are you able to fax in a request? I've done it for moderate.
Thank you!

Any updates if breakfast has started at Sanaa? We arrive in a week and a wake up :cool1:

Not yet. They were still testing it last week and there have not been announcements yet. I would venture to say it could be anywhere from a month to 3 before it officially starts. This was a similar case for Senses of Africa.

Two more days, yay! We have a 8pm dinner reservation at Sanaa next week. Do they still have a shuttle back to Jambo? How often does it run?

Runs every 5-8 minutes from 7am until 11pm, unless they stop for gas. The pp was right the walk is not bad, especially in the evening.

If staying at Jambo, how often in the morning are the buses full to the parks?

Every 15-20 minutes for everything that is not AK. Every 10 or so for AK.

We booked a Savanna view with bunks. The CM I spoke to on the phone when I had a question said that Uzima was the best savanfna to overlook. Does anyone agree/disagree? Also, when stating preferences for lower/higher floor, which is best? We are only staying one night and I want it to be amazing for my boys:)

I really should know the answer to this question. We are staying at Kidani on points before resort hopping to Pop for the second half of our stay. I know we can use the amenities at Kidani/Jambo on our checkout day after we have checked out of our room. Is there a place at either pool (Kidani or Jambo) that we can change out of swimsuits into regular clothes? We will have some children with us so the Spa/Workout Locker room is not an option, right?

There are lockers and dressing rooms on both sides independent of the spa with showers and such.

This was not our experience this past week. Often times even at park opening buses ran every 30-40 minutes not the usual every 20 or less. AK was the worst!

Bummer. We will be there in a week.

Absolutely...There is one in between The Mara and the arcade over by the Jambo pool, that is a lil larger than at Kidani.

The one at Kidani is near the exit, (Gym) (not by the lower pool area ) It's a lil bit smaller but is sufficient and will get the job done! :thumbsup2

Has anyone tried it during the testing phase? I wonder what the menu is like.
