Okay. Have eight of us going and the youngest are 11 years old. Would like to request a dedicated 2 bedroom. Have standard booked so our odds are against us.....can I place a request for this through the online check in or should I place a call or both? We arrive next week Wednesday!

Thanks!

Changed our ressies to save a little $$ and hopefully hit DL in January 2017 for our 10 year anniversary :) Also have a girls trip planned in February 2017 for the Princess 5k.

Originally booked 11/26 - 12/3 in standard room at Jambo, but are now doing a split stay. Will be at All Star Movies 11/26 - 11/30 and in a Studio Villa at Jambo 11/30 - 12/3.

Still crazy excited, first deluxe stay and this is a surprise trip for our kiddos...the split stay will just be another layer of surprise! 110 days!

Hmmm....called to ask for a dedicated two bedroom and was told there are two queen beds in the second room. What am I missing? Looked around the Internet and see some places say they have two queens and others say a queen and a hide a bed. I'm confused.....sorry to be a pest. Not sure if I got a general person who truly doesn't know the difference on the phone? Maybe?

Dedicated 2br's have two queens in the second room.

2br lockoff's have a queen bed and a sofabed in the second room, since it can be "locked off" (divided) to be a studio villa and a 1br.

Call and have the request added to your reservation. When (if) you do online check-in do NOT make any "requests" as that would cancel the request you made via phone.

I think that dedicated 2 bedroom and 2 bedroom lock off are two separate booking categories. When you book a two bedroom you select your choice.

It's possible the phone CM doesn't know the correct answer. Did you reserve the 2 br. through Disney or are you using points (your own or rented)? If you are using points then you are either booked into a dedicated or a lock off as nicole88s noted. If it's a DVC reservation calling won't matter as you'll get what was booked w/ DVC when the villa was reserved.

If you have a cash reservation I don't know which you'll get, & it's worth while to call Disney and add the type of 2 br. villa you want as a request to your reservation. For what it's worth, if you end up w/ a lock off, when I most recently slept on an AKV hidabed it was pretty comfortable.

We have a cash reservation - with the summer discount at least. Had to go cash instead of renting points because of a possibility of cancelling for medical reasons. No DVC for us yet but I'm still wishing for that, lol! When I pull up the Disney site for cash booking it states two queen beds so maybe they are dedicated rooms? I didn't get a refurbishment letter in the mail but it now shows on the site. A little nervous about that - planning on afternoon naps.....anyway just super excited to be going and plan on having a great time even if it rains, rides are closed, parks are crowded, whatever! So happy and thankful to be able to go back to Disney! :yay:

I have a standard view room booked at the end of November, has anyone ever had bunkbeds in a standard view room? When i booked the room they were listed as a possible configuration but dont know how likely we would be to get one. I have a DD who will be 9 and a DS who is 3 so bunkbeds would be ideal. Thanks x

We booked a standard room this summer and received a first floor pool view room with bunk beds. The view wasn't great, but we sure did love having the bunk beds.

Just got the letter from Animal Kingdom Lodge Management about ongoing refurbishments and how whole floors of the resort may be shutdown.

I thought they were only doing a soft goods refurb for Kidani where we are going.

Also thought it was only supposed to go until 9/24, we're arriving 11/13.

Whole floors? Really?

Oh, wait, you said Kidani. That would'nt effect someone if they were at Jambo.

Letter I received;

It is a soft goods refurb. They are closing off sections of floors to minimize impact on guests. Soft goods refurbs require a lot of "in and out" of the rooms, therefore by closing off entire sections of floors, guests never see that going on...and the workers can complete entire sections at a time.

I doubt you'll notice much at all.

Hello! I'm joining in the fun. Going in March, savanna view studio. Very excited--this will be a surprise for my daughter. It's her second trip, just "mommy and me."

We would like to be close to the pool to, I know we cant have everything but what about requesting Zebra Trail near the lobby ?
If you are near lobby, you have to walk out the front entrance to the pool at Kidani. Its not a bad walk. That's your best bet because if you say near elevators you could be anywhere.

I am so excited! I just booked a 1-bd Kidani for the end of November. I got the 20% off deal. The inventory was super limited and was only available for Standard View. I have stayed in Jambo a few times, and I remember there being a ton of places to view the animals, even when not in a savannah room. Does Kidani also offer balconies in different areas for public viewings? Thanks!

Alright I have a question and I feel slightly silly asking it... And I apologize if it is a stupid question. My fiance had DVC and recently sold it. AKL was his home resort and where we usually stayed which was obviously Kidani. Well we booked AKL for our upcoming honeymoon in October through the Disney site and it was just listed as that... Animal Kingdom Lodge. Does this mean we will be at Jambo? Because when booking there was the option to book at AKL, AKL- Jambo, and AKL- Kidani. The regular AKL was the cheapest route so we did that but Im confused.... any help would be appreciated. And again sorry if its a stupid question... Maybe Im just over thinking it?!?
