Just got a text that we are in room 4206 which is not close to what I requested . Can anyone tell me about view and location ?

I ha e most definitely not seen a shuttle that runs Kidani to Jambo or vice versa. At Jambo the signs say to go to Kidani to take Disney Dprings bus. It's the only bus that goes to Kidani. At Kidani the signs say to take any park bus to get to Jambo.


Actually, the buses have been a big problem for us. Were not sure we're going to ride them after today. We waited over 45 minutes for bus going to am EMH park this morning. Yesterday we waited 40 minutes for bus going to AK (we had ridiculous lines to get in and missed opening both days. We're really disappointed. Called customer service from the wait this AM. They did not care. Then emailed guest relations and no response so far. DH also sent to the front desk this evening and not sure what their response was.

We are bringing DSS (13) and DSD (10) for their first time to AKV-Kidani 11/20-11/26. Complete surprise (hopefully)...they won't find out until we pick them up for the airport. It will be DW and my first time at AKV, we are really excited to explore a different resort.

When we used a couple of years ago it was a golf cart...

We were there in early May, there was a van shuttle between Jambo and Kidani. It's not marked well, but if you just ask a CM standing outside Kidani (or Jambo, I guess, we didn't know it existed until we had walked to Kidani) they will let you know where to stand to look out for it.

Heading to Jambo house and I have a question about the pillows in the rooms. Is there only one type of pillow on the beds or are there two types. I like a firmer pillow and several hotel chains offer a choice, does Disney? Sometimes I find the pillows too squishy and really can't get a good night sleep.

Going for a week in August and currently booked at Floridian. Really want to switch to AKL, but am concerned about mosquitos there. We have only stayed there one night last summer and noticed significantly more mosquitos compared to other resorts. Is it really much worse at AKL or am I remembering wrong? My daughter has very bad reactions; blisters etc. that take a very long time to heal.

....you shouldn't be - the entire WDW area is sprayed early every morning...we've stayed there 4 times and have never experienced any problems...

There is a tan van (holds 10-12) that runs about every 10-15 minutes between Jambo and Kidani. It stops right outside of the front doors. If you don't see it, ask any CM.

This was our experience last year. I was hoping that the bus situation was better and/or that our bad experience last year was just a fluke.

When we last stayed in Sept 2008 we did notice mosquitoes around the fire pit. We tried to sit out there in those comfy rockers but we didn't last 10 minutes because of the bugs. We didn't notice them anywhere else though, not on our balcony or at the pool & spas. Still...we're staying there for 2 weeks this year. Maybe we'll bring some bug spray!

Anyone spending any time outdoors who is concerned about mosquitoes should definitely pack the repellent! I don't believe there's any real concern at this point for Zika, but I know I'd rather be safe than sorry!

Several reliable sources have recommended 3 products as being a good defense against mosquitoes: Sawyer Picaridin and Natrapel 8 Hour (each contain 20% picaridin) and Off!Deepwoods VIII (which contains 25% deet). They kept mosquitoes from biting for about 8 hours.

Also recommended: Ben's 30% DEET Tick & Insect Wilderness Formula kept Aedes mosquitoes away for 7.5 hours and Repel Lemon Eucalyptus, containing 30% lemon eucalyptus stopped them for 7 hours.

EPA has these recommendations for applying:

"Apply repellents only to exposed skin or closing - never put it on under clothing. Use just enough to cover and only for as long as needed; heavy doses don't work better.
Don't apply over cuts, wounds, or irritated skin or immediately after shaving.
When applying to your face, spray first on your hands, then rub in, avoiding your eyes and mouth, and use sparingly around ears.
Don't let young children apply. Instead, put it on your own hands, then rub it on. Limit use on children's hands, because they often put their hands in their eyes and mouths.
Don't use near food, and wash hands after application and before eating or drinking.
At the end of the day, wash treated skin with soap and water, and wash treated clothing in a separate wash before wearing again."

Hi everyone, my Mom, Sister, and I just booked a September trip to AKL. It's our first time staying in a deluxe. We normally don't have a preference for room view, but i'm considering upgrading to a pool view this time (a savanna view is out of our budget for this trip). Do you guys have pros/cons for pool views at AKL? I was a little concerned about the noise factor.

Hi all! I'm sure this has been answered but my searches have come up empty.
Considering moving from Contemporary to AKL as extended family wants to share our Disney visit from 9/3-9/10.
Looking at a 2-bedroom AKL suite with CL access -- but unsure which floor plan I should be looking at. Jamba House villas are "dvc villas" not suites, correct? Can anyone share if they have stayed in this room before? Are there 3 bathrooms? 2?
Pools look amazing here, and I understand the CL lounge has just been updated! Worried about the traveling time to MK as we have a Princess fanatic in our soon to be 4 year old daughter, might just need to make the rest of the family book separate rooms at CR based on feedback!

On our first night we were awoken at 10pm by a family in the next room. They were up and crazy loud u Gil 3am. We got no sleep and were up getting our two year old back to sleep all night. The whole night I was thinking about how on here everyone says there is no sound proofing at values and peop,e who stay deluxe can't stand the different (basically). Our last stay was at Pop and we never heard a single person. It was a really bad first night. After that we've heard nothing. I'm not sure if they quieted down next door or if we're just so exhausted after park days we sleep through it. We definitely hear their conversations and tv if were in the room at the same time during the day. Basically, I'm not impressed by the sound proofing.
