Room requests:

I booked a "Standard Room - Club Level Access"... Is this Killamanjaro Club? How do I go about requesting a room with a king bed? It's really my only request. I tried using Touring Plan's room fax thing but I don't really understand what type of room I'm looking for.

I talked to the concierge about this very thing recently. Apparently, there is only one king room on CL, and it is handicap accessible. It was suggested that it would be a better use of my requests for other preferences- because the odds of getting it are very slim, as priority goes to someone that needs it. I am a disabled vet- and could have pulled the 'handicapped card'- but opted to leave it for someone that is less mobile than I am.

....yes.....the refrigerators are surprisingly cold.

We thought about making a room request as well (also staying CL). But then we started to think about it. We could request a room closer to the lobby since it can be a long walk to the room at the end of a long day in the parks, but then we started thinking that maybe Arusha Rock might start to take away from the feel on the balcony (we are balcony people and when we stayed AKL-CL the time we spent at the resort was spent in either the lounge or on our balcony). We had a room that was a bit down the hall when we stayed AKL-CL a few years ago and ended up with a view that was very close to the watering hole that seemed to be quite the hot-spot for the animals and the view and feel was very open. So we decided we'd be perfectly happy in any room they decided to place us.

Yippee! Just rented from a DVC owner for the week of March 26 - April 2 in a one bedroom villa at Kidani! Never stayed in the villas there, but it looks very nice! My DD likes having some space and her own bathroom will be so nice too (not that she's fussy, just likes some privacy)!

...although typically the further out on the 'arms' of the resort, the better the views, but great views of animals still can be had in the rooms that are closer to the lobby...

We are finally getting our stay at AKL April 29, 2016-May8, 2016. Unfortunately had to postpone our Oct trip due to our sick lab We are staying Jambo House Deluxe Studio Savanna View. Any recommendations for a room request?

We thought about making a room request as well (also staying CL). But then we started to think about it. We prefer rooms further down the hall--much better view of the animals. CL rooms are usually in the first and second group of rooms.

The gift shop at Kidani has a refill station and I am pretty sure the pool bar has as well.

Is there a kiddie pool or splash area at AKL? Thinking about what would be suitable for our DS who will be 15 months old at the time of travel.
