Respectfully, I would NEVER EVER EVER EVER transfer at downtown Disney!!! There are fewer busses there than at any of the parks, and then to the BW area, I forget the order, but it stops at the BC, YC, Swan/Dolphin, BW. Five resort stops is way too many.

sorry, i've never done dtd to get to any of the resorts mentioned above as i love the ride on the ferry however, having said that, i have often done dtd to get to other resort restaurants and have never had an issue. i don't understand why it would not be an option of choice. there may not be as many buses dedicated to dtd but they come more often imo. i've never had a wait much longer than ten minutes and have sometimes walked off one bus and just walked to another.

now thats just my thought and is not meant to try and sway anyone. i just don't think dtd should be shut out of the equation.

Is there any place that lists the bus transportation times from AKL to the different parks? We will most likely be driving to all the parks except MK. But given how far away AKL is from MK, I'm trying to decide if the bus is still the best option or if it would actually be quicker to drive even though parking for MK is a pain. Also, I don't know if this will factor in much but we will also be going at a ridiculously busy time: 4/3-4/11. Thank you!

We are booked May 3-8 and it will be our first time at AKL. Staying at this resort has been a dream of mine and I'm so excited to finally be able to stay and experience it!

We'll arrive at AKL in 2 days. First time at Disney with the kids.

1. Is there an activity schedule posted somewhere for next week? I've searched and searched, but it's not coming up. Just wondering time of movie, which movies on which days, timing of marshmallow roasting, etc.

2. Is it marshmallow roasting or s'mores? We have some dietary issues and can either bring our own graham crackers and chocolate or just eat the marshmallows.

3. We have a savannah view w/ bunk beds. Should I request a certain view? Or request minimal walking (girls would like a balcony, which I know they don't have on the ground floor). I need to pace myself re: walking, and I know they'll be plenty of that at the parks.

Hello - there is a 'recreational calendar' listed at the 'mouseforless' website, I don't think we are allowed to post links? Anyway, the movie list for January says:
Sunday: A Bug's Life
Monday: Brave
Tuesday: Chicken Little
Saturday: Sleeping Beauty

On the WDW website it shows just marshmallows

I can't help on the location, we're going for our first stay at AKL at the end of the month but we only booked a Standard room...hoping for some pixie dust for an upgrade

Whats the best way to go about a room request for a studio savannah view villa? We rented points through DVC Rental Store for the first time. We have stayed at AKL before, but never in a villa and never at Kidani. We will be arriving in WDW the night prior to check-in.

I honestly do not even know what the savannah views are like at Kidani, as I have never visited that side. Just Jambo. Not sure about what the best floor would as well. Since we arrive one night prior, we can go early the day of check-in to request our preferred room. Any helpful insight would be appreciated

For DVC rentals, room requests are only through online checkin, or the actual owner has to make the request through DVC member services. (The rental place can be middle man on the requests, it's normal.)

For Kidani, the lobby is on the second floor, and we liked the low floor view, it felt very close to the animals. However, the thing about Kidani is the hallways are LONG. No, seriously, I mean long. Think of the longest hallway you can imagine. Now times it by four. That's almost half of Kidani. We had the second to last room, and it was an 8 minute walk to the lobby for two 40-ish adults with no kids. That's almost half a mile. But the views from there were friggin amazing. We still would for sure ask for close to lobby though. It's a must unless you really like walking OR have a car. The parking at Kidani is actually under the rooms once you're away from the lobby, so then close to lobby doesn't matter.
