I was wondering if the standard rooms at AKL are worth it...kids want to try it out but we can only afford the standard parking lots rooms. We are usually die hard CBR fans so this is something new to me..not sure about it..would you still go if you could only afford the standard rooms? thanks.

We are in the same boat - currently booked a preferred room at CBR but can upgrade to Standard at AKL for less than 100.00 more. Worried that going from a nicely located room to a standard room at AKL might not be worth it.... AKL looks amazing but I am not sure just how much we would be there to enjoy it and if the view from our room is a parking lot... and removed from everything...... AHHHHH the decisions!

Use Touring Plans room locator to find a fabulous standard room close to what you want and request it. That's what I'm going to do! I'd do the AKL for sure

I did call and ask bout this but they told me its only a request and not guaranteed. Ahh the decisions..right now IM sitting with two reservations and its which one to cancel..lol

Yup same thing..I have two reservations..one for a Waterview at CBR and one standard room AKL.....UGH...trying to decide is driving me crazy...we dont travel till June 3rd so I have time to make up my mind which one to cancel.

Just an FYI, I have found the Touring Plans Room Finder to be extremely inaccurate. So much so, I no longer use it nor recommend it.

Hi! We're getting ready to book our trip and I think we're going to spring for a savanna view room! Aside from the fact that I can barely contain my excitement, I have a question. My daughter is an EARLY riser - 6 am is sleeping late - so one of the reasons we want the savanna view is so that she can sit and watch the animals while we attempt to get a little more sleep/shower. Is there a prime location to request for early morning animal viewing? Or maybe just a section to request that's good for a 7 year old? THANKS!!

Also, on the day of our check-in can we expect to drop off some items prior to our room being ready? I've heard before about 'cold storage' like when you have a Garden Grocer delivery, but is that available to me for stuff we have that needs to be kept cold? (Non medical)

Hi! We just booked AKL savanna view 1-4 June for the 1/2 half of a split stay. I just want to ditto all of scrapquilter's questions.

I am really excited, it is going to blow my kids minds when they look out the window and see giraffes and whatever wildlife is outside at the time

I just returned from staying at AKL March 7. We had a standard view room, #4205. On my online check in I requested upper floor and close to the lobby. Our room was on the fourth floor and once outside our door we overlooked the lobby. Our standard view overlooked the roof of the lower floors but we could still see the Savannah. We saw many giraffes, ostriches and other animals.

Can you use your qs dining credits from the dining plan at the Uzima Springs pool bar for food?

Arusha Savanna View - the animals all bed down for the night literally right there! Our younger ones got up early, and we went out to the balcony and could not BELIEVE all the animals out there! As they began to wake up it was super cool to watch - I'd never seen how a giraffe actually went from sitting to standing before (and vice versa) - very neat! Springing for the upgraded view at AKL was one of the best decisions for that trip, hands down.

Wow, that sounds great. We were on sunset savannah and in the am there was just a couple animals. Arusha would be really cool. But I agree Savannah view is worth doing.

WOW! That's exactly what we're looking for! We keep joking that we're lucky our daughter isn't too into princesses and girly stuff - we're using the money we would have spent on meals with the princesses and BBB for animals!

LoL, This is a No Brainer in my eyes.....Standard or not, the resort itself is ridiculous.....The Restaurants are AMAZING, & the CM's are some of if not THE Best out of any resort....You're going to have a GREAT Time..Trust!!

Uzima I believe No doesn't accept, but the Maji Pool Bar at Kidani does from what I remember.
