Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR SPORTS Resort

it also means snow season for those in the north.....

uggh, yes it does. We have been lucky here in Western New York so far. Last year this time we were still digging out after getting buried under 7 feet of snow in early November. I will take this warm weather any day.

Last night on the A Side: Toyota camry, vw jetta, chrysler 200, Chevy impala.
I was looking for ford fusion and Hyundai sonata. They were not there.
I know this thread goes off topic quite often but I don't know what you're talking about.

I will be there 1/24-1/27 see you at the resort. Did you make your fast pass selections yet? I got ones I wanted but I'm not picky.
That's great! See you there! I did make my FP selections! I'm not picky either so I am definitely very happy with what I got.

Hello! I just posted some of this in the December 2015 thread, but wanted to report here on our stay at All-Star Sports this past week (December 1st to the 8th).

Buses: Resort buses were great, 10 minute waits at most. Many times there was already a bus waiting for us as we approached the queue. Also, LOVED the bus time boards at the resort bus stop. VERY helpful, and very accurate. Because buses came so frequently, they were not "overly-packed" and we had a seat every single time.

The Resort: The room was clean, the staff was friendly and the food at the food court was good. DS has a nut allergy, though, and seemed to get hives every single time we ate there, even if he just ate grapes. Either there is something in the air there, or they aren't cleaning tables good enough? Not sure what's up with that. The Pop Warner crowds made NO difference in the parks, but lines at the resort food court and noise/pool crowds were tenfold once they checked in on the 4th. Very little supervision of the kids at the resorts. But, the majority of kids were polite and held doors for us, etc. Parents and coaches however were cursing at each other, at their kids, cursing loudly on their phones gathering in large groups in the way of others, and took their table and chairs from their rooms and set them up outside their doors (blocking pathways to our room). My room was in the back of Touchdown 10 bldg, so the noise in the common areas didn't affect us, but we did have a LOT of bus/vehicle/machine? noise coming from beyond the trees at ALL hours of the day. And for the first time in all my stays, I could actually hear our neighbors' toilets flushing. So, FYI - Room 344 is NOT a quiet location.

Housekeeping did a wonderful job - plenty of fresh towels and new soap/shampoo every day.

Prime Pantry Delivery - My Prime Pantry box was sitting on the table in our room when we checked in. :) I felt bad that I didn't get to tip the person who delivered it, that box was heavy!

Check-in/MagicBands - we did online check-in so we received a text as we boarded our plane to MCO, that our room was ready and we could go straight there if we wanted to. Never had an issue at the resort for room entry, room charging and dining plan with the magic bands .

Overall it was a great stay. If I didn't know ahead of time about Pop Warner groups, I would probably have been overwhelmed/surprised at the crowds at the resort, and I will probably request a quieter room location next time!

I love my stay at Sports but those darn kids can make it hell. I stayed there this past April while there was a cheerleading competition going and never again. I blame myself because I didn't do my research beforehand and booked a standard room. I ended up in the hoops section on the 3 floor with all the kids. Security was called several times as they were out of control at all hours of the night. These kids were way worse when I have stayed early December during the POP Warner events.

One more thing: quieter doesn't mean better during these events as far as rooms go. If you book a preferred room you probably would be better off as these events book the standard rooms because they are cheaper.

Just to clarify, my main issues came from two things: (1) the noise from the cursing parents and coaches of the groups, and traffic flow issues were located largely in the common areas, such as walkways, pool, tables inside and outside of the food courts. So, I would have had to pass through most of those areas anyway even from the preferred sections. I actually could not hear them from inside my room. Although I could have avoided the teams practicing football on the touchdown field if we stayed preferred :) We had several close calls with DS getting close to being hit with an errant football as we walked to our room at night. Which is why I began cutting behind the building to get to our room, only to find the parents set up with their room tables and chairs blocking the pathways there! (2) The bulk of the noise that I could hear from within my room was toilets flushing in adjacent rooms, and vehicles and machines making noise from what I guess is a service road area behind our building. Incessant beeping (not honking, but high-pitched typed beeping that vehicles make when in reverse), and machine and engine type noises from larger vehicles. I could hear it with our door shut. I've never experienced this at any resort or any stay whether Value, Mod, Standard or Preferred before.

I wasn't bothered to the point of complaining or asking to change my room, just wanted to share our experience so others can benefit from it and make choices accordingly. I know now to consider more than just proximity to the main building (which is why we requested Touchdown bldg).

Thanks for your report. Other than the kids/parents, I'm glad to read you were pleased with your stay. We are staying at sports for the first time (have been to CR twice, and AOA once) and a little worried we won't like it. Always good to hear positives, especially about the buses (which it seems some people have issues with).

Hopefully we don't encounter any groups. Is there a site that tells you? We will be there the week of February 20th. Not that it matters, we won't be changing resorts, just kind of curious.

Look up your dates for the February 20th and it looks like you should be in the clear from any group competitions. The AmeriCheer competitions dont start until 2/27.
