Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR SPORTS Resort

We've stayed at Sports twice for the Wine and Dine events. We were in Hoops near the Surf's Up pool. We were close to race transportation, and enjoyed the theming since we were all there to run races. The kids LOVED the pool and so did those of us with sore legs after the half marathon. Buses were frequent and convenient.

Food court was closed, but we knew that ahead of time and enjoyed Music and Art of Animation food courts for our big meals. The only drawbacks were the missing fridges and the missing Mickey statue. (Where was it??:worried:) It's helpful on the event weekends to have ready fresh food since you can be in and out at strange hours before and after the races, but we managed without the fridge this year. The beds are AWESOME and comfy. The option of adjoining rooms was helpful for our family as well.

I'll stay there again.

:thumbsup2

We are staying there for the first time for a quick SWW this May and pretty excited!

Ahhh our WDW home looks great with a new food court! :thumbsup2 Looking forward to returning there with my DD in May 2015!!

Because of the new food court, I was wondering if the condiment offerings have changed. Anyone down there right now who could fill us in?
Thanks!

Have never been to any of the resorts and am contemplating Sports. Do the rooms have a refrigerator or coffee pot?

i'll be staying there later this week.
i'll post back here to let you know if no one answers your question.

from what i have seen in the pictures, it looks the same for condiments as before.

Hopefully we will have some more info on the new food court and the refillable mugs with the chip...and also fridges in the rooms..see how it all is working out.

We are happy with our choice of resorts...Our son and our daughter in law and two munchkins chose this resort..so we are on board with it..

we have been to Movies quite a few times..and Music this past May..with our granddaughter and her fiance...and we are anxious to try this one out..

26+ visits to the house of the mouse..love all of the different catergories and resorts..whether it is deluxe, moderates or Values...all have a special meaning

Does anyone know if you can get a refrigerator or if there is a coffee maker at sports?

Hi, there is something odd going on with all of the mini fridges. 2012 we had one. This year in November we didn't have one (surprise) and were told they were unavailable unless you needed them for medical reasons. I'd call and check directly with the resort to see if the mini fridge problem is resolved.

You didn't have a fridge in November because there was a safety recall on a model fridge that are very prevalent in WDW resort rooms. So they removed them all due to safety reasons. They have now all been replaced so all the rooms have a fridge again.

We were going to stay at ASMu but I called and made the switch today. :goodvibes
We are very excited about our upcoming stay in May! The new food court looks great! Hello gelato station!!!
Does anyone know if there will be kids sports teams staying there in May? I don't mind either way, I'm just curious. My daughter plays soccer and does gymnastics so we aren't afraid of teams ;)

I called around 7:30 this morning and got the room discount...we were not even on hold to listen to any Disney music....so call people...ROFL

20 percent off ..

We are anxious to go now...

Mini fridge replacement for each room continues. It seems, these are some of the last remaining resorts to get new fridges.

just returned tonight and had so much fun.

i was in touchdown 7 and the room had 2 fridges.......

one in the cabinet/tv and a large one in the corner.

go figure.
