Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR MUSIC Resort

When we traveled last November, we were given a "traveling with" # (TW...) that linked our reservation to BILs reservation. I agree with the other points you made though...we linked them well before 10 days out. On every other call I made after that regarding that trip, the CM noted the TW# when listing out the reservation details.

Interesting. When we traveled with my parents last October and linked our reservations we weren't given a TW#. We're also travelling with friends this October, linked our reservations and didn't get one. Guess it depends on the CM you get.

Out of curiosity I'm going to call tomorrow and ask if we have a TW#.

I see for May they show movies 3 or 4 nights a week by the pool. I seem to recall movies every night in the past. Am I wrong in thinking that or will they go nightly starting in June. Also for anyone there now what time does the pools currently close.

Maybe,but probably not.:)

Disney has gone to "alternating" Movie Nights between "adjacent" Resorts.

Sports/Music/Movies now "alternate" "hosting" Movie Nights(some nights more than one All-Star has a Movie Night).

The same "alternating" nights is happening at the POP/AoA and Port Orleans Resort.:)

I have a two week stay planned Aug/Sept in a family suite. We will be driving to the parks most days, so I'd like to try to request a 1st floor room near the parking lot. Does any have an opinion on whether the parking availability is greater on the building 1 & 2 or the buildings 9 & 10 side? Thanks for your help.

please can you tell me if the have life jackets for adults also can adult sure swimming diapers when in the pool and use this in the pic as well

Just stopping by to say that my family stayed here May 9th and checked out May 14th. We arrived mid day and 1 out of 2 rooms were ready. ECVs cannot go on the elevator so we had 2 ground floor rooms in the Rock Inn Building 4. By the time we moved stuff into the first room from the car the second room was ready. They were located around the corner from each other which was fine for us.

The resort was clean, and the beds were small but I knew this beforehand. The bed was comfortable which was a nice surprise - although I was dead tired every night too! We had 2 adults & a teen in our room and a 2 adults in our 2nd room. It was tight getting ready with 3 but having the sink outside the bathroom along with the privacy curtain made it much better.

I was expecting it to be loud, it wasn't - at least in our room. Had our neighbors windows not been decorated I would have sworn the room was empty. The food court was quite noisy but we didn't spend much time there at all.

Pools were great - my only complaint would be that the quiet pool was not quiet at all. If you were looking to relax by the pool and not be bothered by loud kids this was not the place for you. However, the bar is located at the regular pool, so when we did relax by the pool with a drink in hand we went there and it was perfectly fine. The bartender was very nice!

The lines for the busses are well organized and the board posting the bus times was working & accurate (at least for the ones we were waiting for) every morning. We traveled to AK, EP, DHS & MS 2x and the ONLY time we shared a bus was on the way home from AK. It made a stop at ASSP before dropping us off. We had a 5:30 ADR at Y&Y so we left much later than park close. We never waited longer than 10 minutes for a bus coming or going.

On 2 separate mornings we saw 2 different middle school choir/band groups. They had chaperones and were very well behaved. We would have never known they were at the resort, no idea what building they were in though. I can tell you they were not the kids being loud in the pool. Only downside was one morning after we got our coffee and headed to the bus, the line to the food court was out the door and all the kids had their meal vouchers in hand. I'm not sure how they handled this as luckily we just missed it. I'm hoping they have a line open for other guests.

I kept hearing how far everything was and I didn't find that to be the case at all. The walk back to our room from bus stop to Bldg. 4 was less than 5 minutes walking at a leisurely pace.

I would not hesitate to stay here again. Keep in mind it's a value resort and you should be fine. The only other Disney property I've stayed at have both been deluxe and obviously there is no comparison. For this trip however, we did 4 1/2 park days in 5 days so we were basically there to sleep.

That's my 2 cents. :flower:

You said ECV's can't go on the elevator? Did you try? My understanding is that they could! Is this a new rule? When we stayed at AKL there was no problem with the ECV's on the elevator. We are staying at ASMu in December and we have rented an ECV. So just curious if this is new?

I've never traveled with someone in a scooter before. I thought perhaps maybe it was just these types of resorts because we were able to use the scooter on the elevator when we were at both the Contemporary and the Grand Floridian while visiting for meals.
I only found this information out because we received our room ready text and it wasn't the building I had asked for so I figured I would try to call and see if we could switch it since we were willing to wait as we were still driving. When I called ASMu I believe I spoke with Andy (or Allen?). I mentioned our 2 rooms didn't need to be right next door but close enough so I could help my mom with her scooter each night & he said he would have to change our rooms anyway because scooters were not allowed on the elevators there & our rooms were currently on the 3rd floor.

The phone # on my room ready request was: 407 939-6880 if you want to call them and speak to someone.

Hmm....I think the CM you spoke to might have been confused! If an ECV can't go in an elevator than they definitely can't put luggage trolleys in there! I've never heard of such a thing! Plus I think that was a regular CM and not actually the room assigner at that number you listed. I'm going to ask over on the disability boards. But I'm pretty sure ECV's can be on upper floors of buildings with elevators. But thank you for the information.

Hi! I'm going with a bunch of friends for a short stay and we're looking at booking the family suite. Does anyone have pictures of it?

The person you spoke to gave you some bad information. This is what happens when they have all calls route to a Central Call Center instead of speaking with someone at the resort. Scooters are most definitely allowed on the elevators.

Just passing along what I was told. :confused3
Since our room wasn't anywhere near the elevators I didn't take notice of the usage of them at the resort but like I said, we were able to use elevators elsewhere. I guess had I really wanted a top floor room I would have inquired more, but it didn't make a difference to us.

I'm not sure about the 9/10 side. We stayed on the back side of Jazz building 2 facing the parking lot, and it was a great location. There was plenty of parking there. There was also some shrubbery and such, it wasn't like the parking lot was all we could see.

We're currently booked at AoA but looking to save money/extend our trip by a couple days. I'm a little nervous about switching to ASMu (family suite) because part of our trip will be during Pop Warner week and my daughter had been looking forward to the splash pad and playground at AoA.

1. Other than the two pools, are there any other play areas for kids at ASMu?

2. Is Pop Warner bad enough that we should just stick with AoA?

3. Have you had success with a family of 6 in the ASMu family suites? We would want to put a camping mattress on the floor so each kid can have their own sleeping surface. Will there be room for that?

1. The playground between buildings 9 and 10 plus the arcade.

2. In our experiences, nope. Not in the slightest. They are generally not at Music anyway, they're at Sports.

3. Yup. No problem there.

I might have missed it on this thread but I just talked to 2 cast members in reservations, 1 supervisor in guest services and she transferred me, and stayed on the line with me, to a front desk supervisor at All-Star Music. They are telling me now that regular rooms in all of Calypso and Jazz are Preferred. No one could tell me when this change occurred until I got to the front desk supv. She said it was about 2 months ago. I did ask if I was speaking to someone who is actually at the resort and she confirmed that she is. Up until now only Calypso has been Preferred. I searched the internet for info on this change and everybody still shows Preferred only in Calypso.
So if this is true, which I believe it is, that means half the buildings at ASM are Preferred. Six of the ten bulildings at ASMo are Preferred. I wonder how long before they make most of ASSp Preferred.
