Thanks very much for the response! You've confirmed my fears I'm not sure it's a trade off in order to get a king bed. We'll see how it goes.. they probably won't even have a room available to us (and then I won't even have to deal with a soaked bathroom!)

no prob! yeah ours was totally random and the first time we went...and were uneducated about disney property i thought all the value rooms were like that. the king was nice, gotta say i dont like going from a queen at home to a double at disney, but meh, ya deal with it...you're still at disney...as oppsoed to the snowstorm that is outside my house rite now!

Can some one please help me we're going in august during free dining and currently have CBR booked we normally stay at POP but the kids are getting tired of POP so we upgraded to CBr but recently my nephew moved in and will be going so were thinking of going back to a value in a preferred room and the kids have been wanting to try ASMO! We are night owls and love to swim!!! And my daughter will be having major surgery again in JUNE on her knee so it takes like 6 months total recovery so I need to be as close as possible to the main building and pool! IF anyone has some great room suggestions I would greatly appreciate them! Thanks in advance

The Fantasia Buildings are very close to the Mickey Pool. This is where we always request - and luckily we've been able to get it every time. Good luck!

Oh I hope it's not true. this happened to us once before the main pool was going to be closed during our stay. We were able to quickly make a hotel change before everyone else jumped but rooms went fast. Where did you hear this? I realize you didn't say it was the pool, just "rehab"....

Yippee! Just booked today at ASMovies! I'm really excited, I loved POP back in '07...love the themes of the values! May 16th - 23rd with Free QS Dining.


But I AM just hearing about this refurb going on....in the Dalmatian buildings??

We paid preferred and requested the Dalmatian area...if they're just refurbing the rooms will it really effect our stay at all? Will we notice they're there/will there be a big ugly view of a paint truck or something?

I don't want to leave ASMovies, I'm really excited to stay there...but should we request Toy Story or Fantasia instead...? Maybe I should call tomorrow and ask about it....

That being said I forgot to ask how far her calendar goes. Bah! But I'd think at the very least, 6 weeks. But that's a total guess. Definitely nothing happening right now.

Don't beleive a word they say. They are clueless. When Pop was getting refurbed last year, people kept calling (and remember all calls go to a call center, NOT the resort), they would tell people there were absolutely no refurbs happening, yet person after person went to Pop and came back with pictures as proof.

I did call the number listed for the Resort itself... no automation, she answered saying ASmovies resort. But I've never tried calling before, is this a call centre?

Yes that is a call center. They answer with the resort name and pretend they are there. The next call they may answer as Beach Club.

You are talking to a CM sitting at a Central Call Center that has no clue as to what is going on at the World. Some of the times, they aren't even on-site.

They just answer the phone as if they are at the resort and forward the call, if necessary.

I would be surprised if that CM even had a calendar in front of them for refurbs. Best to just say they don't know then give out false information.

You'll have a great time! We LOVE ASMo!!!! No worries about refurb. if they're redoing rooms you may luck out an get a newly refurbed room. If not, I doubt very much you'll be aware of it at all. Only when they refurb a pool does it become more of an issue. I jumped asking about that as it happened to us before....but all this person wrote about was refurbing rooms so I really think we're all fine. Happy planning!!!!

Yeah, I think I'll stick with the Dalmatian area and take my chances, not a picky person anyway. I'll be starting a PTR which will of course eventually lead to a TR in the next couple of days if anyone wants to follow! I'll definitely keep my eyes peeled for any refurbs going on while I'm there and get pictures if there's anything to report!

Is there a kiddie pool or wet jets/sprinkler area? On the Website it just takes about the two pools but I thought I seen someone mention something about a kiddie pool or something? Does anyone know or have pictures?
