We are bringing some granola bars and we got in on a fridge swap, too. Does anyone have any estions as to other food to get\keep in the room? Our kids are 5 and 2. We plan on getting milk and juice boxes. We have a dining plan but don't want to burn through it at break neck speed!

yeah we did the free ddp in october but had breakys in the room. we got a box of cheerios, good for breakfast and snacks in the park, pop for dh, poptarts, nutrigrain bars, the famous amos cookies there were i think 36 small snack packs, but they were quite large. oh and yogurt. we still left with half a box of cheerios, and cookies after 8 days. our kids were 4 and 2.

We thought the small boxed cereals were THE best. Juice boxes were awesome! Milk there is a little pricey, but still... better than the meal credit. One little carton supplied for 2 boxes of cereal (small individual ones). Cereal bars as well are good. Poptarts were good to bring along as a snack in the park.

Also, you can bring or buy bread for pretty cheap, and there is a toaster off to itself in the cafeteria. Bring a small jar of peanut butter or whatever. Even PB and jam sandwiches for breakfast. I know my kids would think that would be fun since it's not a normal breakfast thing. :)

Some good ideas here. Thanks. Has anyone ordered groceries? Since we have a meal plan, not sure that we would really need that much food.

we ordered groceries, see my response above. we were on the free ddp- meaning we got one cs, one ts and one snack a day. so we knew we'd have to do something for breakfasts, esp with the kids. so we ordered breakfast and snack foods to do meals and tide us over. that way we also had some snacks to take to the park for the kids. it was great- everyone was scrambling in the food court and we were getting up, dressed and eating at our own rate, and then gone tothe buses, while others were still ordering!

Does ASMO has a outdoor movies and i have to pay to go in and see a movie or it's completely free?

I have never seen one. From my understanding they are at All Star Music, which isn't that far of a walk. It's the middle resort for the All Stars. I believe it is free.

I saw something being said on another thread that mentioned a 500.00 charge limit to your room. They said this was based on category of resort?Anyone have any info on this?

Just back from ASMovies. Yes, our tv had rca inputs on the front, one for video and one for audio, not stereo.

Also, when crowds are heavier and there is just 1 bus going to all 3 of the all stars from a resort, Movies is the last to get off. So, either be prepared for a long bus ride if you stand or wait until you can get on a bus with a seat. Especially handy to know for older, injured, or disabled people.

99% of the time Sports, Music and Movies have their own buses! no sharing! so no worries!

yes it is free. If you are interested in movies also check out the campfire and movie at the Campgrounds, Beach Club and I believe on the beach between the Grand Floridian and Poly.

I'm wondering if the walking distance from the Far ends of the resort say mighty ducks. How does that compair to say the walking at the moderate resorts they all look like everything is so far away.

It was much closer when we stayed in the mighty ducks bldg to just walk next door to All Star Music. We love that building.

Yes when we checked in they said there was a $500 charging limit then all you have to dois call the front desk or go to front desk and have the charges put through/paid and your good to go for another $500. What I found was they just put it through on my credit card when it was close to $500 as I went once to pay and it was already put on there. I didn't mind but some may. I had my credit card linked with the room key.

Yes that is true, but like others said you can go to the desk and up it.

I have read some of the thread but there is a lot so I thought I would ask. Please don't be mad if it has already been asked. We are thinking of getting 2 rooms at ASM since we have 5 of us (one is 1 so we could do with 1) but we want to do 2. We have stayed at pop and liked it a lot but I want to stay at ASM because I think my kids will like the theming. I have read that it is dirty and run down. Is this true? Are they planning on updating anytime soon?

Just wondering what the bathroom decor is like in the toystory rooms? We love the look of the star shower curtains and border in bathrooms! However it looks like maybe thats just in the dalamation rooms?Any pics would be great! We are so excited to stay here!I have a pin code and could probably swing a moderate or maybe a deluxe but the theming at movies is so cool! Also it really looks like the rooms arent much bigger in the other resorts just maybe a better lobby area!We were originally booked at the wilderness lodge but seriously the rooms look about the same as all star movies!I am also having trouble getting over the fact that there are no microwaves in the rooms! We are going to eat out and would just like to heat up our leftover food in the room!Oh well!I know we can use one in foodcourt.

Our family of 5 stayed at ASM in December and we LOVED it!! :goodvibes My kids (7, 10, 12) are all Disney movie nuts and thought the theming was great. We also got 2 rooms and liked the convenience of extra space, beds, and bathrooms. I didn't find it dirty or run down at all. It was a typically clean, well-manicured Disney resort. The only thing that stood out as really old to me were the large TVs. After years without a refurb, I've read that some have had banged up furniture, etc., but we did not have that. We did have the best mousekeeper in all our years of WDW vacationing. Every night we were treated with new towel animals and our kids stuffed animals were always arranged in a funny way. Her name was Luz and she was in the Woody building if you want to try to ask for her. She really added some pixie dust to the end of every day.

I don't know when they are planning to update it, but I would definitely stay there again. Hope you enjoy it if you go!:thumbsup2
