Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR MOVIES Resort

Well gosh, if that's the case, I think allearsnet.com needs to update their info!:headache:

I didn't know Toy Story was preferred until I called to book our trip for Jan 09. We requested Toy Story and are paying for the preferred location. I REALLY hope they fulfill that request as my 4 yr old is a huge Toy Story fan! I've heard lots of people say that they put in a request for a specific building but that they don't get it. Hopefully it's less crowded in Jan and they'll hold to it! :confused3

Hello Everyone!

We are in the process of planning a girls only weekend trip in Nov to celebrate my mom's 57th bday
We were able to get a preferred room at ASMo w/ 2day base tickets for $500 :yay: I think that's a super deal! I do have a few questions about ASMo because I've never stayed in a value resort before. I know you all have probably answered all these questions before, but I didn't seem to find them as I 'scrolled' through the thread. Are there fridges and coffee pots in the all of the rooms? And, what is going on with all of this 'bed bug' talk at the All Star resorts? I'm actually considering changing to CSR for $125 more just to avoid the bed bug thing. My understanding is that bed bugs have been reported at all of the All Stars, CBR and POR. :scared:

Hey Splash!

Bed bugs can happen anywhere at anytime. I'm not sure why all the reports all the sudden. Just read up on the facts about bed bugs and take a flashlight and inspect the mattress when you get there (before you unpack). That's what we have done ever since they were reported at POFQ the week before we stayed there. Luckily we've never had a problem!

Good luck deciding on where to stay! :goodvibes

Hey Shelly!
What are you doing here?
I agree, bed bugs can happen anywhere at anytime. I don't think we'd be hearing about all of this bed bug thing if not for the DIS. I really want to stay at ASMo...I'm looking forward to it and my mom is excited too about staying there too. I guess I need to stop reading the bed bug threads  It's like reading towel animal threads from people who didn't get any:rotfl2:

I subscribed to this thread awhile back when we were planning on staying at ASMo in January. But then they only had preferred rooms left when I called. Anyway, you know the whole story and now I'm staying at CBR. But we may still stay at ASMo sometime in the future. So I hang around here lurking from time to time!! :rotfl:

Seriously, don't worry about the whole bedbug thing! Just be sure to inspect first like I said! We will do that if we are staying at a value, moderate or a deluxe!

We just spent 9 nights at asmovies. We did not have a problem with the bed bugs and we were there from 8-29 thru 9-7. We were in the dalmations building. We didn't have any complaints with the resort at all. The only thing we have a complaint about was the buses. That will keep us from staying there again. We were actually offered bounceback and have booked again for next september with free dining but are bouncing back at pop century. But the resort itself NO PROBLEMS!

At the value resorts, fridges are available for an extra fee (approx. $10 a night) and no coffee pots. That's one reason to get a preferred room - not only closer to the buses, but closer to the coffee! (I've been known to walk into public places in my pj's and bed head for coffee.) :scared:

questions about requesting a building...

1st choice: Dalmations
2nd choice: Love Bug

If we pay the extra preferred but Dalmations isn't available but Love Bug is, will they give us credit for the extra preferred payment or will they just put us in another preferred bldg?

Or would it be easier to not pay for preferred, list the two choices, and hope for an upgrade? Mid-June, so I know not to hold my breath.

Personally, I don't care. But dd picked Dalmations and just about everything else this whole trip will be about her brothers.

I know this is a fairly stupid question hardly worth posting, but I need to get this settled in my itty bitty brain.

carmiedog Can anyone please poinpoint on the resort map where these guys (er...ducks) are?
http://www.ourlaughingplace.com/aspx...SMovies&resort

While I'm at it, are there any good aerial maps showing where all the "stuff" is?

Mickey's Fantasia hat is in the background. So, I would guess if you can find that big hat, go behind the trees behind it, and you should find them. I'm going June of 09, and am now going to have to look for them myself;) as now I'm curious, too!

Thanks for the info! I just know that my mom will be sending me out to get the coffee in the wee hours of the morning ;) Has anyone taken one of those small 4-cup coffee makers and used it in the room? I saw one in the store today for $12 but if Disney doesn't allow them, then I don't want to buy it for no reason.

we just stayed at All Sports and brought our own coffee maker, coffee, sugar, milk and disposable coffee cups we had no problem at all. I am sure it would work the same at all movies and as a matter of act we plan to bring the stuff again next year when we stay at asmu. enjoy your trip!

Hello! We just switched resorts from CSR to ASmo. Got an amazing rate with QXG. (if you are there 3rd week of Dec, definitely check it out!)
So question is, can you move the beds? I assume no. We have 2 toddlers, so I will make sure to ask for the bedrails.
We are in a preferred room, and I read something about if you wanted to see Woody or Buzz, request the opposite character building? A little confused by this.
We are very excited (esp with saving $550!!), and the kids will love it! We are celebrating both of their birthdays.
ALso, what is available for breakfasts? I want to do breakfasts in the room as some quiet family time. Can you purchase milk in the gift shop? They love their cereals. :)
Also, tipping...do you tip your lugguage person (are they called bell hops?), and of course Mousekeeping.
Oh I am so excited! YAY!   :woohoo: :woohoo: :yay:

You would want to request the opposite character building because if you're looking out your window (assuming you're facing the characters and not the parking lot or trees) you won't be able to see "your" character from your window, you'll see the character that's directly across from you. As far as breakfast, they have mickey waffles, muffins ect. and yes you can buy milk from the little grocery area in the food court.

yep...........those ducks are just past the big pool on the way to the herbie car. cute photo op ;)
