Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR MOVIES Resort

I'll be staying there in December. :cool1:

Does anyone know if it's just the mighty ducks and fantasia buildings that have king sized beds. I saw it on the map thing, but I was just wondering if there were any changes since that was posted. We would REALLLLY prefer a king sized bed, and were hoping for either a toy story or dalmations room, but if it's just fantasia or mighty ducks we'll have to decide between those two. TIA!

I saw on a website somewhere (not sure if it was ASMo) that you could request bedrails. I was wondering if you could do that here, if it has to be done ahead of time, and if you've used them, what they're like??? Also, I will definitely need an iron but will not be able to bring one with me. Can you request an iron if needed?

Irons and ironing boards are already in the room.:goodvibes

Thanks for letting me know! :goodvibes

Does anyone know if the life jackets are still in the arcade or at another location?

Can't wait for ASMo!! :cool1:

I don't think this question got answered. The life jackets are no longer in the arcade. They are in bins right next to the pool. Just help yourself. It's actually easier than waiting in line at the arcade.:thumbsup2

Here's a picture of the Iron and Ironing Board we had at POP I'm sure there the same or very similar at the All Stars Resorts!

We stayed at AS Movies mid August. Once we got to our room we called and requested 2 bedrails and had them within minutes. They are the same bedrails you would purchase at Babies R Us ... I believe Fisher Price ... bars slip under the mattress, they are mesh and fold up and down.
I had requested staying in Toy Story ... didn't happen. We ended up in the back side of Mighty Ducks. Although it was ok I really wasn't impressed. We had stayed in AS Sports 6 years ago and Pop 2 years ago ... I think next time we'll be going back to Pop. Our room was just very damp and quite a distance from the food court (AS Music's food court was closer but that was torn up).

I guess this is where we are staying for our sept. 09 trip. My sister seems to think that we CAN pick the building, guess she'll be suprised if she doesn't get it. My pick was POP, after I found this board and read reviews.:cool1:!
Question is, if other resorts food court is closer, and you have the meals included, can you use the other resorts food court? Or do you 'have' to stay within your chosen resort:confused3.
Thanks!

You can use your meal plan at any hotel food joint. So, if you are staying at Movies and want to eat at Music, do it.

If you are in the Magic Kingdom and want to eat at the Cafe in the Poly, just hop a monorail.

I'm thinking of going on a cruise in March to celebrate my 40th b-day (which actually is in Feb.) Just gotta convince DH. ut anyways. I am thinking that we should fly in the night before, and then when we get back stay an extra night just to let DD unwind before the flight(as our last two trips we didn't have unwind time and DD was not such a nice girl on the flights home) Soooo, we always stay at Pop, but I have really wanted to check out Movies at some point...so perhaps this will be our unwind hotel. And possible the one before we go as well. I think it wil lgive me at least a taste at how this one is compared to Pop.
I know this is mentioned in here somewhere..but which buildings are standard?

Does ASMo have a dvd player in the rooms I am reading on the posts where people are renting from the shops movies to watch.?

We're doing our first cruise 3-1-09 and it too is for my 40th:banana:! Am so glad we made this decision.
I am looking forward to that very much. Not so much the WDW vaca with WHOLE family:guilty:. But am curious for any and all information I can find on the ASMo, as I guess that's where the decision has been made to stay.
And see your from Ohio, and knowing how March weather can be up here (I'm from PA), yes, we're going down night before.

Good question. We are going in November and requested a king room and paid for a preferred location. I'll be interested in this as well. :)

We will be staying at ASMO next year arriving on August 23. We booked the free dining bounceback when we are at Sports a couple of weeks ago. I can't believe I am already planning for our next trip! We liked staying at Sports, cannot say we fell in love because we really did not spend that much time and had a couple of mousekeeping problems. We are looking forward to our stay at ASMO. I will probably be asking lots of questions going forward.

Should I expect the rooms at ASMO to be similar to the ones in Sports? I saw some pics of ASMO I think in this thread, and the furniture (where the TV is and the smaller table with chairs) did not look similar, it looked smaller than what we experienced at Sports recently. Can somebody clarify?

Thanks!

This is from wdwinfo.com:

The Fantasia, Toy Story and 101 Dalmations sections are considered "preferred" and are higher priced. Those who prefer a lower traffic, quieter area, should request the Love Bug buildings. Guests staying in the Mighty Ducks buildings may find it closer to catch the bus at the stop in front of the All Star Music Resort’s Melody Hall.

What a coincidence. When is your b-day? Mine is acutally Valentines day, but that week is higher in price. The next week is SIL b-day and her and my DH work together, so I don;t want to step on there toes if they want to go out or whatever. She turned 40 last year and they really didn't do anything, so if we dod go, I'm sure she is going to be mad about it anyways. Her DH is 10 times worse than mine, and they never go anywhere for long.
