I'm going to WDW in 11 days and am really sad that the Alien Encounter ride isn't there anymore.

I really enjoyed it last time and was wondering if anyone else liked it.
I've only ever heard bad reviews, I thought it was terrifying!

Also, what is the replacement like?

I have to say I really didn't like it....I'm such a wimp with things like that

Hi Crystal
I liked Alien until I creaked my neck and it was stiff all day. This was due to my being soooo tense. I have not seen new stitch adventure yet, Have to wait a couple more months. Would love to now aht you think of it!!
Have a fab time

hi krystal

the lilo and stich ride is pretty similar to the alian ride really. imho though it isnt realy one iwould take small children on- far too dark and scary the queues for this ride were ridiculous the majority having small children in tow i am suprised that disney are pitching it at such a young age group the seating is just the sameas alien incounter except that it is lilo or stich in the cage

I wasn't really a fan of the alien ride but really enjoyed the Stitch version. It is funny and cute though I wouldn't line up for ages for it, it is definitely worth experiencing though.

I liked Alien encounter as well. Rode the Stitch version this year but thought it was very poor. Both DDs (13 & 11) also thought it was boring.

I found it pretty tame and ended up laughing at the odd scream. My DD (age 8 at the time) couldn't understand what the fuss was about. Due to her height she missed the "pressure" points. I wasn't too sad at seeing it go.

I really disliked Alien Encounter. In fact I would go as far to say I hated it. Not a big fan of being 'in the dark'...and harnessed into a seat!!!!!!:scared1:

Liked Stitch's Great Escape though, similar to Alien but less frightening. DS's (6 & 7) both enjoyed it too.

I thought Stitch was a bit lame, I'd do it again thno' cos my DS really liked it but I wouldn't queue for ages for it

I hated Alien Encounter, I'm not sure any ride has frightened me quite as much. I am very claustrophic and was really scared of being trapped in there. The restraints seemed to hurt my shoulders, and the utter terror of being trapped in there meant that I have absolutely no idea what happened with the alien.

I've steered clear of Stitch because of this. Can anyone tell me whether you still get trapped in there?

I hope you enjoy Stitch though, Krystal.

Yes it is exactly the same but with a Stitch instead.

Thanks, Bev. I think I would have to be very brave to get in there again then! Shame there's no alcohol in the Magic Kingdom.....

Alien Encounter terrified me- only ever went on it once....I usually like scary things so had been looking forward to it. But as others have said the unusual sensation of being trapped and unable to move in complete darkness is very different to other "scary" rides.
So I was looking forward to Stitch assuming it was a tamer version, but the elements that scared me are still there. Wouldn't go on again! Would also never go to Skull Kingdom again!

Hi Lindsey

Was pleased to hear it wasn't just me who was terrified of Alien Encounter! I definitely don't think I'll be going on Stitch now after what you have said as it sounds like it was the same things that scared you as scared me.

I love Stitch and think that it is a shame that they didn't put him in a ride instead (that I could have gone on!), but I'm sure lots of people enjoy this attraction.

I loved Alien so Im really hoping its not too different, I love being scared!

I though it was absolutely terrifying, but that was why I loved it!

I went with some rugby players and hearing them scream was hillarious, although they did scream more on Tower of Terror.

Can't wait to go, only 10 moe days.

I read in a magazine once that a woman went on it and when she sat down the seat was wet but she thought it was just water, when she got outside she realised there was wet patch on her shorts and it was a nasty yellow colour, whoever had ridden before had obviously been more than a little scared!! :scared1:

:cheer2:

It was probably one of my rubgy playing friends!

I thought it was absolutely brilliant. I don't think I've ever been so scared in my life. I walked out at the end of the ride and my hands were shaking and knees trembling. A couple of days later I did it again. Even though I knew what was coming I was still terrified.

I'm looking forward to comparing and contrasting the new version in October.

:) Chris

We loved Alien Encounter.
We hate the Stitch version. DH stated that it had all the intensity of a used tea bag.
