Disney's Airport Bus service

How is it now? We will be going in January for a quick 4 days, 3 nites with 3 kids under 7. Last time we got a car but it costs over $130 and for such a short stay...I'm trying to be more frugal. We are staying at POFQ.

Are you talking about Magical Express? If so, we had absolutely no problems. It was a dream. Our luggage was in our room within 1/2 hour of checking in, and it was great to not have to lug it around ourselves! Of course there will be those that did not have the experience we did.

We used it with absolutely no problems with the transportation/luggage portion. We were at our resort about an hour after our plane landed and our luggage was in our room about 3 hours later. On the way home I checked in at our resort about an hour before we were to leave and never saw my luggage again until we got to O'Hare. The one problem I had was getting the return trip set up. When I received our ME information it had our arrival information but not our departure information. I called ME about two days before we left and the person I talked to said it was probably because we were leaving from a different resort than we were going to on arrival so I gave her the information again and assumed everything was fine. When I checked in with ME at MCO the CM said there wasn't any information for our departure. I told her I had just called 2 days before and given them the informtion again. She said it still wasn't there and wanted me to give her our departure information then. I was tired and anxious to get to our resort and didn't fee like digging out my confirmation number for our departure resort right then so I told her I'd call with the information later in the week. I did try to call a couple of times but one time they weren't open yet and the other time I got put on hold and got tired of waiting so I hung up. I intended to go to the ME desk at POR when we checked in to give them the infomation again but there was an envelope waiting for us at the desk when we got there so at some point they did the information into the system and all worked well.

Thanks for the imput...I would like to try it out this time. Last time we got a car and just don't want to be "stranded" at the airport waiting around with three kids at 10am who just got off a plane and know they are only in Disney for 3 1/2 days! Can you imagine what they would do to me !!! Anyway, I might give it a try. I would be nice to just go to the hotel and just get to the parks. My hope was to be at Disney to have lunch. Our flight is 8 am from PHilly and it to get to MCO by 10:26am. thanks again!

We used it and had absolutely no problems. The do pick you up at your resort 3 hours before departure which I have read some people who are less than happy, but I like to know i am at the airport 2 hours early anyway so I am glad they allow a little extra time for that.

We would use it again. Would even pay for it (as long as it was cheaper than renting a car).

We had a great experience with Magic Express, although we didn't use the luggage portion since we only had carry ons. We were on a bus within 5 minutes. I thought it was cool to get a tour of the other resorts on the way there too, it kind of added to the excitement. Also at the airport being greeted by big Mickey Mouse gloved CM's with smiling faces started the whole Disney experience that much earlier.

Hint: You don't need to worry about the homebound information until a day before you go home. Then you can do those details at your leisure at the resort. Often those details will be cleaned up at the ME welcoming area when you get off the plane in Orlando.

We used DME this past September and had no problems whatsoever. Great service and we were at our resort within an hour after landing. The bus driver was very funny and they showed a disney video for all of the kids on the bus. I will use DME on my next trip if we decide to fly, looking at driving instead right now.
