Thinking about trying DisneyQuest when were are in Disney for my 6 year old son's birthday. Is it worth it? Is he still young to really enjoy it?
Have been to Disney many times but have never tried it and are looking to try something new the 1st day instead of rushing off to a park.

Is it built into your tickets already? I wouldn't go if I had to spend the money to get in. Really it's a big arcade with a couple of virtual games and a couple of stations like Sid's build a toy, etc.

It could be fun for a 6 year old... I've only gone there once and it was over 10 years ago. My impression of it at the time was just that it was a big arcade, but with some innovative and new things. If you're into that sort of thing, yeah, it is pretty cool, but for my money, I can find other things I prefer to do at Disney World.

Anyone who loved video games will LOVE this! Now if its not built into your ticket with water parks or more option get the tickets from ticketmomma.com, I did last yr and saved $9 a piece from gate admission and alot more off my tickets! My 34 yr old DH loves DQ especially virtual Space Mt and POTC!

We love DisneyQuest. My DS who is 9 now has loved DisneyQuest since 2007. We love the Magic Carpet, PoTC, and water raft family virtual rides as well as the virtual roller coaster and bumper cars. They have sooo many video games to boot. We didn't go to DisneyQuest last year and both DS's missed it. We will go this year!

I honestly don't think this is worth the money or time unless you love retro arcade games. The attractions really aren't worth it and IMHO the environment is overstimulating and uncomfortable. Also, since the arcade games are free to replay, it can get annoying if you go on a busy day since many kids have no manners and will just continue to play for free while others wait. Also, the worst part for me is basically how "un-Disney" the environment is. For some reason it just reminds me of any old dirty arcade. I think your son will enjoy a day at any of the parks more than this. The arcade games are not very good...in fact I think the outdated Dave and Busters near my house has better games. Plus the amount you'll pay per person is just not worth it. The virtual games are not very high-tech and look like they were all made in the mid 90s and have never been updated. Good luck, again, this is just one person's opinion. But, I did make up my mind based on all the rave reviews others gave it. I wish I had listened to the minority on this one :confused3

The only ride that was worth any time, Cyberspace Mountain, made me sick for the entire rest of the day. I had to leave DQ and get fresh air...

I have two sons who are really into video games and they love it. I think you should base your decision on how much your son likes video game. Our kids have been there several times and are always bummed if we don't save an afternoon for DisneyQuest on our trips to the world.

My husband and son have different opinions on this one. Hubby says that it isn't anywhere near worth the money. My teen likes the "retro vibe" (his words) and will be using his Disney spending money on a ticket. It works out well for us as he is old enough for his own time alone and we have 3 younger children (2, 6, and 9) that will get princess time while he is in game land.

We checked it out last year. I couldn't stand it and my kids didn't want to stand in line to play video games. Of all the things to do in WDW, I can't imagine spending a day inside playing video games...thankfully, my sons agree.

My two kids, age 9 and 14, only enjoyed the virtual roller coaster. We designed our own and rode them several times. This gave the youngest one the courage to take on the real coasters at the parks. That being said, it was kind of hot and smelly in there. I was glad when we left and we haven't been back since. It would be okay if it were just a video arcade in our local town, but when you're that close to Magic Kingdom and the rest of the World, why waste time indoors!

Also, since the arcade games are free to replay, it can get annoying if you go on a busy day since many kids have no manners and will just continue to play for free while others wait.
What I like about Disney Quest is being able to spend a reasonable amount of time on a game without having to feed in so many quarters.

If CM's decided to put in some heavy handed management of the games, say, limit you to ten minutes or so, I will go along with that, provided that everyone is subject to the same arbitrary time cut off.

I've been to Disney Quest twice. The only reason I went was for Cyber Space Mountain. With The Sum of all Thrills in Innoventions now, there's little reason to go. Sum of all thrills is better in my opinion. The Jungle Cruise and Pirates rides are moderately fun, but not worth a half day in WDW.

We love Quest, but check the attraction height requirements. Your 6 year old may not be tall enough for several attractions. How about a water park?
