For those of you who have been to DisneyQuest I was wondering if you felt it was worth the money? It looks like fun but to me it seems a bit pricey. I think my son who's 10 would love it but I'm not sure about my girls who are 8 and 5. Also how much time would you allow to spend there? Is there anything nearby that I could take my girls to while dad and son do the games? Thanks for any advice! :earsgirl:

You can get deeply discounted tickets from Ticketmania.com (about $23 for an adult-that's a nice savings). Never tried it yet, but it's one of our plus features so we hope to get to it later this month! It is surrounded by restaurants and shopping, so there would be plenty to do if the girls don't want to go in.

My 10 year old son loved it the last time. My daughter now 8, (was 7 at the time) liked it as well.

There are tons of things to do besides actual arcade games. There is the Pirates of the Caribbean game, the Jungle cruise game, and the buzz lightyear game (pinball) and the Mighty Ducks bumper car game.

Its fun and my daughter really enjoyed it.

we had the park hopper plus tickets so we got in with with out paying. for me i was not impressed. it was allright but im glad we did that on the way out of disney instead of trying to plan for it. for kids disney quest is ok. for me i perfer gameworks. if you don't get the time to do it, don't be mad its just an arcade.

Did it several years ago in Chicago (but believe it is similar to Orlando).
It wasn't that I didn't think it was worth the $$, rather I wonder if its worth the time when you are in Orlando when there are so many other things to do
that are outside and much more "magical." My DD was about 8 when we went and she loved it. We spent a good part of the day there - probably 5 hours.

Ditto to Snowmouse. My DS13 and DS15 chose that over the water parks this year. We always spend 7-8 hours there, and I still have to drag them out. It is NOT just another arcade. There is so much to do besides arcade games. We're going to WDW in two weeks, and what I did this time was reduce my park hopper ticket by a day because we'll spend an entire day at DQ.

If you can get discounted tickets or are already getting the Plus option on your Park Hopper, go for it. I wouldn't pay rack rate to get in there. It was OK, not anything special to me. Pirates and Virtual Space Mountain were the only 2 things that we really liked. Your son will really love it, but I don't think the girls will dig it too much. If you can split up your party that might be an awesome time for mother/daughter activity, like maybe the Tea Party or something.

Its ok the best thing there are

- CyberSpace Mountain (Best ride at Disney Quest)

- Pirates of the Caribbean: Buccaner Treasure
- Ride the Comix
- Magic Mirror (this is just cute)
- Living Easels (Once again cute little thing)

These are just the things that me and my GF tend to enjoy when we make our way there

plus up in the Wonderland Cafe you can go on the internet while you have a snack.

Hope this helps

We were ther in Aug/Sept. DS11, DS13, DS14 all were not impressed. We only went because we had options. When DS13 saw the regular price he said that it sure wouldn't be worth going at that price.

I agree with Pirategirl. I'd never pay full freight to go ($38, I think, per ticket) but we had it as part of our PLUS options and it was a great diversion for the whole family. I'd do it again, but only with the PLUS option.

Is Quest like an all day event or a 1/2 day type thing. It seems like there's alot 2 do. Does it get crowded?

It could be a half-day thing depending on your kids' interests, but definitely not a whole day thing. The last time my family went there, our length of stay passes included it, so we went there for a little while at night after the parks closed. I don't think it's worth paying for it unless you have the plus option on your ticket.

As for something you and your girls can do (if interested), you can go play miniature golf either at Disney or somewhere else. If you have a car, there are a couple of non-Disney owned miniature golf courses near Downtown Disney. As for the Disney ones, there is the Winter Summerland courses next to Blizzard Beach and there is Fantasia Gardens near Epcot.

Since we have always had it included in our passes, we usually go for a a few hours. DH enjoys it more than I do but its fun and lots to do. :) We only do it if its raining or if we are hanging at DtD.

We were there about 2 hours. I don't think we would do it again. I'd rather go shopping in DTD. Or just swim at our pool

It's definately worth the money! The last time I went to it I think I was 14 - 15

me and my sister spent well over a half a day there!! but I love that kind of stuff.. when we were there it was really crowded though

I have been unable to get this URL to open -- has anyone purchased DisneyQuest tickets from ticketmania.com and know them to be reputable?

In one of those unfortunate twists of fate, we HAD the option to go on our last two trips but couldn't tear ourselves away from the parks. For our upcoming trip in Dec., I got Park Hoppers without DisneyQuest or the water parks, and NOW my DH and DS (7) are determined to go. I'd LOVE to get a break on the ticket prices, and appreciate any advice anyone has on getting legitimate discounts.

We went in 2002. Its fun, lots of simulated rides of all kinds. Great for kids.

As others have said, we got it as part of the park hopper deal so it didn't cost us anything.

I wouldn't go there in place of a day at the parks. Wouldn't go if we had to pay the same rate as a park. The parks are a lot better, but it is still fun.

One example of what I mean by fun is to put on a headset and look at a screen inside it, but spend 5 minutes trying to sword fight or whatever with some cyber baddies. Trouble is your actually using your arms and legs etc. Its a giggle to watch your other half look like a complete *** and remember that 5 minutes ago she probably laughed at you in the same way.

This year we are planning to go in the evening after a trip to a park.

From memory the counter service food was pretty poor and typically disney priced, but captive audience and all that.......
