What is so good about DQ ??? From the pics, it just looks like an arcade .. am I missing something ? What is it like in there ? Worth the money ? I think I would only consider it on a rainy day ........ but convince me otherwise ...

Thanks

There are some otherthings to do like some virtual rides, my favorite is the pirates 3D ride . If you don't like arcades or VR you may want to skip it and keep in mind that rainy days is when it is most crouded. Sorry I can't convince you but we love going there because we have arcade lovers in the family. I do not care for video games as I have a bad wrist but I find plenty to do.

It was worth it to us. My son 7 is very into video games and loved everything about DQ even though he was too short to go on the big rides. DD enjoyed it way more than we thought she would. Her favorite was cyberspace mountain. They both liked the lower lever virtual reality stuff and the free arcade was a nice break. ALSO the arcade was very nostalgic and fun for DH and I remembering all of those games from the 80s. The creativity level was fun too and dd and I took an animation class.
We spent almost 7 hours at DQ and it cost our family of 4 (plus baby) $80.

This is a must do for my kiddos, now 13 and 11. We go but it is included in our tickets. I probably wouldn't have gone the first time if I had to pay for it seperate. I would have thought the same as you in that it is just an arcade. I hate video games, but I love to watch everyone else having fun and I find myself doing the creative stuff they have there. I get a kick out of trying to draw something. When I get bored of that, I go up and get cheesecake and sit down at the computer and check email and these boards etc. Don't go when it is raining or on the weekend nights. You won't get your monies worth.

If you have kids who are into video games its a great alternative for a non park day.

I may be one of the few who isn't crazy about it. I went once and that was my last time. Now here's my philosophy.........................Something being "worth" something is dependent upon the "pricing" of what that "something" is.

I may love a certain thing, but if it costs more than it should, then it's not worth the money.

Disney Quest isn't horrible. however there's alot of wasted space in some areas. Now I will say that the layout is just unreal. It's like a complete maze. You actually have to have a map. Simply amazing. However, after a while I just felt like I was forcing myself to do things because of the money I spent.

Sure some of the virtual rides are cool but you have to wait in line forever, just like in teh parks. We did the POTC ride (which was really nothing like the ride, or even the same idea) and it was fun but after it's over, it's over and you have to wait all day again to ride. I think it's ok but not worth the money.

Not worth the money especially when you have to go on a sunny nice day because you can hardly get in on a rainy day. I wouldnt give up my nice day for an expensive day inside when I'm at Disneyworld.

Absolutely must go!

My family arrived at DQ at 11am-had to drag them out at 11pm!

Lots of old and new games, very good time. Our kids our 9, 11, 13 had a blast and begged to go again. Of course mom and dad love the games too! The interactive ones, pirates, rafting, rollercoaster are a must see.

Don't pass this up if you have any video gamers in your family!
:cool1:

if you have a park hopper pass that includes DQ go for a couple hours, just to check out Jungle Cruise andPirates of the Carribean. Other than that, not much interested us. Me, DH, and DD(7). We only stayed about 1 1/2 hours.

Maps and guides for DQ are very difficult to find for advanced planning...does anyone have any recommendations in this regard?

this may seem like a dumb question... but... when you go to DQ, and pay admission... do you again pay to play the games or is it a big huge *FREE* (after admission, which is steep) arcade? (my kids BURN thru money when they are in an arcade, so if the machines are not coin op'd, then this is a place we'd get our $'s worth from)

Hmm tell me more about the drawing thing... DD LOVES to draw ! I am sure she would like it there ... hmmm

thanks for the info

It's free once you get in! :Pinkbounc

the games and rides are free with your admission except for one area that gives tickets for prizes like a chuck e. cheese's. also keep in mind that there are things to buy. there is a game where kids can create a virtual crazy toy and then purchase it. you can also create a rollercoaster and ride it then buy a video of yourself riding it.

If you don't then by all means, try it at least once. I hated it because I walked around green most of the time. Happy go pukey! I do ride motion rides at the parks but for some reason, almost all the rides made me want to hurl. Pirates is really neat though.

now i'm kinda bummed that we missed it! will add it to my "must do" list for next trip though (whenever that will be ::sigh::)
