DisneyQuest Closing?

When is DisneyQuest closing? I've seen several people mentioning that it will be closing soon, but I have not yet found out when it will close.
I really hope it's still open for my next trip, in November...

Everything I've read indicates "early 2008." If your trip is this coming November, you shouldn't have a problem. The rumor is the an ESPN Zone will go in its place.

It is 'rumored' to be closing but Disney has not confirmed.

Just as a freaky coincidence, I sat next to a DisneyQuest Cast Member on my last flight and we got to talking about it. She says they have recently replaced carpeting and wall coverings (which, she says, are of a rather expensive variety), which makes them think it ISN'T closing.

I guess that's a matter of opinion, since carpeting and wallcoverings do wear out, but the point is, at least this one CM thinks it's just a rumor. I guess we'll find out eventually! ;)

Ah, not so soon, then. Ew, it'd be replaced by an ESPN thing? sheeeesh.

Maybe the replacement of those wall coverings & carpeting would line up with it being replaced in 2008? That may be far enough into the future to go ahead and fix things that need it.

My thoughts exactly. I don't think it means they won't close, but I think this CM would really prefer that they didn't.

There was a DisneyQuest in Chicago around 1998 in the River North area that closed after about two years. I attended the press opening and that was fabulous! I guess with all of the advances in home video games, who wants to go to a place like this?

...People like me, who have no gaming systems at home. xP
I'd much rather spend MY money on horse-back riding lessons and art supplies... But it's a real treat to go to DisneyQuest when on vacation, and to be able to do all those nifty games & arcade stuff for free. (well, individually free. costs to get in, but nothin' after that)

We have never been to Disney Quest. I was planning on doing it this time with my teens 17 and 15. There isn't a lot to draw teens if they get rid of that!

This is a really good point. I think this is where WDW is lacking. They really need some places for teens to hang out. My DD always wished there was a place to go dancing. They do it on cruises, don't they? Why do you think they don't at WDW? Or are there places we aren't aware of?
