DisneylandForward EIR released

The City of Anaheim has released the Disney-funded environmental impact report for the DisneylandForward project. Summary in the LA Times:

(I'm not a Times subscriber but was able to read one article.)

There's a reference to a sound profiles study that probably explains where that sound-level map came from that was posted here a week or so ago. And as we guessed, there are plans for a new parking garage, and then some: "...the park plans to invest in additional pedestrian bridges, another parking structure and a new transportation center to mitigate traffic."

Timeline:

"The environmental report will now enter a 45-day public comment period that will end Oct. 30, after which the city will respond to comments and conduct public information and hearing processes. The first of two public workshops will be held Oct. 9 by the Anaheim Planning Commission. The Anaheim City Council also will host two additional public workshops before issuing a final report and holding hearings. Disney aims to have the project go before the council for a vote by the end of 2024."

The executive summary alone is 78 pages! So it may be a while before anyone surfaces with a report...

I did just glance at one of the charts in the summary. Disney currently has only about 42% of the hotel rooms already allowed in the Disney Resort Specific Plan area, plus thousands more on land that Disney owns within the Anaheim Resort Specific Plan area (the latter mostly where the Toy Story parking lot currently is). I count over 8,000 potential rooms. So that's, what, at least 20,000 more people per night? They darned well better put in more attractions--a third gate or something--to absorb all those extra visitors.
