Disneyland with a temporary disability?

We are visiting DL in a couple of weeks - my DH is recovering from a foot injury- he's in one of those foot brace thingies. He is walking with it now, but after a short while, he has to be off his foot (he even gave up and used one of the electic chairs at he store the other day (very unlike him- he's very independant). I know he'd be uncormfortable in a wheekchair all day- he'd much rather walk. Is there any way to keep him form waiting in long lines (if they are long) without being in a chair?

From much of what I've read in the "DISability" forum and from other posts, their first suggestion is always "get the chair". Just last night I might have injured my knee and I might have to rent some wheels for our upcoming trip...in my case I'd rent an ECV so hubby doesn't have to push me the whole time. I'm not thrilled about it, but I also don't want to destroy my knee or slow the family down. Then again, I'm surrounded (in my family and hubby's) by people who really should have "wheels" but don't, and they are hurting themselves by continuing to stay on their feet...I long ago promised myself that I'd use wheels if needed.

So anyway, that'll be suggested first and foremost. There are some offsite rental places...Deckerts is the name that comes to mind...with less expensive rentals.

Other than that, the people at city hall might have some way to help, you'll have to let them know what he needs so they can see if they can help.

Do you know if there is a guest services phone number tha I can call ahead of time about this? I have looked all over but can only find the number for recoered info (which I tried without success ) and for hotels and dining.

He may get a guest assistance pass, but really he still will standing a while in the handicapped accessible line. really, its no big deal to rent a scooter from off site ( dekerts) and have a good time with out the pain or hassle of trying to do disneyland with out aid. its a long day with a sore foot and no scooter !!!
Being proud does not always work when your in to much pain to enjoy your trip
I rent one, I have a serious back injury and severe arthritis of the spin and joints,diebetes to. I have to rent one. though people see a fat woman on one and say " hey she is just fat she does not need a scooter" looks can be deceiving. I do not care what people think !! have him get one and enjoy the parks

Rent an ECV or wheelchair. You can park when he wants to walk around.
He can get a GAC for no stairs for when he is not in a chair or ECV.

Disney has a long standing policy that guests must do what they can to prevent any discomfort they may have in the park thorugh the use of things like scooters, rollators, sunscreen, hats, and wheelchairs.. I use a scooter so I can set in line and wait like all the other guests. I lvoe short lines but never what to be sent to the head of the line because I am disabled or anything else for that matter like race, religion or gender. I want to be equal and like veryone else.
