Disneyland Website, Confusion

Hey everyone

I'm just a bit perplexed and was wondering you could help me. We wanted to reserve a good neighbor pkg and on the website it says deposit is required. Well my fiance emailed disney yesterday and they responded with they don't take deposits. What's the deal? Is this false advertising or something because I really don't want to book directly with Disney if their info is incorrect. I'd rather look for other pkgs from AAA or something if the website is misleading. I've heard horror stories about people booking directly with the Disney Travel Company and I don't want to become another statistic in that.

Thanks
Sarah

I have booked with Disney travel at least 4 times. I have NEVER had a problem. They do take deposits, and require payment in full no later then 30 days before your trip. I have booked both online and over the phone.

I 2nd what hlbtimes has said. We did have to pay a deposit & the remaining balance was due 30 prior to arrival. I used the Disney website, then called them also b/c I had a new question like, daily! This was in '02.

They were VERY helpful ... and the best part is, when they read you your confirmation number they use disney words! Example: GP12AM45 becomes goofy-princess-1-2-ariel-mickey-4-5. LOL - Gotta love THAT!!! ;)

Something else neat they do: Every time I've called they somehow ask about our prior Disney experience, so the conversation goes something like this:
CM: ...And have you stayed with us before?
Me: No, this is our first trip.
CM: Oh, but when you were a child...?
Me: No, I've never been.
CM: (pause) You've NEVER been to Disneyland before? Oh, well I must tell you this!

Maybe they do this for everyone, but they always give me at least one cool tip to use during our stay! The most recent one was about taking a photo of my DS6 when he first glimpses the castle (instead of taking a shot of the castle.) Another went on about attractions they thought DS6 would most love, another gave me a tip about the Buzz Lightyear ride (near the end of the ride, look up at the ceiling!)

It's a small thing, but such a lovely touch. :goodvibes

Oooooh Alex2kmommy - I don't remember them doing that but I can't wait!!! It WAS 4 yrs ago after all. If you get any more fun tips....share please!!! :)

Be sure to price out the identical good neighbour package with Costco travel. Ours was a couple of dollars cheaper but included a character meal, and a gift card. Nice perks for exactly the same hotel and flights etc.
Go to Costco.com and use the travel button. I actually called the toll free number from here and we are going in 2 weeks. I've had great service.
Yes, a $200 deposit plus the travel insurance, if you are accepting it, is due 10 days from booking and remainder is due 30 days before travel.
