disneyland vs disneyworld

well yesterday i made a list of all the rides/attractions that wdw has that dlr also has, and a list of all of the exclusive to dlr/wdw rides or attractions. i am not including restaurants or shows or parades, just rides and attractions in my listing... from that, we'll go through it as a group and decide on which parks to hit up at wdw (looking like mk, ak and epcot so far) for a few days, and then spending a few days at dlr for all the duplicate rides, and dca for the buena vista street/cars land stuff.

to be honest, although there are a lot of duplicates between wdw and dlr, we'd much rather spend the time doing the duplicate rides in dlr as it's smaller = less walking in the heat and more time to spend in the parks, rather than on transport getting from point a to b....

or at least, that's the plan so far.

i think i've talked carlo into doing a 'me and he only' trip in june 2014 for star wars weekend + western caribbean cruise as we didn't get to do our trip for this year... fingers crossed, that way we can spend more time at wdw + get the cruise we wanted, just the 2 of us :)

we would only go to DHS for star tours
If you have never been to WDW, never been to DHS, why limit it to that? DHS might not be top of the list for everyone, but it has a lot more than just Star Tours. I usually do AK in the morning/early (animals are awake still) and then DHS late afternoon/evening (subject to opening hours)

The expansion to WWoHP won't be open, you'll have to go back to Orlando for that anyway, so you can always go back to DW. If it is a once in a lifetime trip anything less than 2 weeks, if you want to include Universal, is not enough, BUT this isn't a once in a lifetime trip. I think your revised timing looks pretty sensible. Just make sure your time at DL is not the weekend or school holidays etc. DL is quieter mid week, you can easily see more.

I have been to both and would agree that WDW needs much more time.
Do you have to do the cruise?
You could spend 3 weeks between just the parks.
If you only have the 10 days, I would do 8 in WDW and 2 in DL.
That's just me though.
