I remember about 10 years ago in 1998, my friend and i would go to Disneyland every saturday, we would head over to Splash Mountain first thing,,there was a cart stand right next to the entrance, this cart would sell a candy bar called Violet Crumble, that was the only place in all the land that they would sell this candy bar. It was tradition for us to grab a couple bars and then get in line for Splash Mtn....I haven't seen this candy bar there since....can anyone tell me if they still sell this there??I loved that candy, it was an australian candy bar,,,i find it once in a blue moon out here in some stores if i'm lucky, but its not the same, it was our tradition... Can anyone tell me please????

I love those! :lovestruc My friend and I discovered them in high school but they were very rare and it was hard to find a store that had them. Never saw them at Disneyland though.

thanks, i might have to just order me a couple of boxes for my house...

These are my absolute favorite candy. Only been to DL once so I never had them there, but they sell them at Cost Plus (an import goods store) if you have one near you.

Just got myself a 5lb. bag of Violet Crumble!!! I love having relatives from the Land down Under. That is all I ask for when they come this way. It is hard to find out here. See it everyonce in a while at a Dutch Market in the City of Orange.

Mmm, love Violet Crumble bars! Definitely an Aussie staple (I'm Aussie born although I speak like an American.)

I've seen them in Cost Plus Imports, and in English specialty shops.

The other one I love that is getting even rarer, is Coffee Crisp. I think it's the same company. You used to be able to get them at Cost Plus, also, but I haven't been able to find them in the last year or so.

Edit: Found them both, here: http://store.candywarehouse.com/violetcrumble.html Yum!

It's basically chocolate covered honeycomb.
Made with Golden Syrup and Bi-carb soda.

I also found a US recipe for the same http://www.walkerscandy.com/honeycomb.html made on corn syrup rather than Golden Syrup. But even when you make honeycomb yourself, it still doesn't measure up!

Edit - the above wasn't a recipe, just a description. Here is a recipe - http://fetesandfestivals.com.au/article/22 , scroll about 1/2 way down the page. Substitite Corn Syrup for Golden Syrup.

Yes!! Jan 28th 2008, I saw those at the Big Candy Store as you turn into Hollywood at DCA before you go under the sign on the left there is a huge candy store. And in DL the Hot Chocolate Store had them, too!

They sounded like bit o honey to me and I'm not fond of those.

I haven't tried them but they sound similar to the Cadburys crunchie bars we have here in the UK :)

No, they're not at all like Bit o Honey, at least in my opinion. The crunchy part in the middle is so lightweight and practically dissolves in your mouth. Oooh I love them!

Although I never cared for them they were always at this little market near my house in Napa, CA growing up in the late 80's and early 90's. I saw them at an old fashioned candy store in Fresno back on memorial Day weekend!

Yeah we love those in Australia!

I always bite the chocolate off first then eat the honey comb last.

The crunchy candy part on the inside is similar to seafoam candy. Heh, that probably doesn't help. Seafoam is pretty hard to find now, too, except in specialty candy shops.

Both Coffee Crisp and Cadbury Crunchies are easily found in Canada (which may be easier than Australia/UK to get candy from).

Violet Crumble can be found in some candy stores that import.
