Family has finally decided to go to Disneyland. We are thinking of June 1-5, 2010. What is this time period like? Is it super crowded? Are temperatures very hot? Just wondering what you veterans think. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Also what do you think of the Marriott Fairfield Inn? What's the walk like especially at night? Was really hoping for Disneyland Hotel but it's out of our price range this trip. Thanks for any help/advice you can provide.:earsboy:

Early June is the calm before the storm . Not very crowded, but then also it means less entertainment. See "What You Should Know About Off-Season at DLR" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=18462889

Weather is warmer, not that hot IMO, and lots of morning marine layer aka "June gloom". See "Detailed Weather History for DLR" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=23004158

The Fairfield Inn on Harbor is very close to DLR (10 minute walk max) and an easy, relatively safe walk back at night. See

Also June is Grad Night time. See "The Scoop on Grad Nights at DLR in May and June" - www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2298400

Only bad thing about this week is that it is still considered "Spring" and not "Summer" to DL and theyb won't be showing fireworks, fantasmic, electrical light parade, etc... everyday yet. Typically it starts everyday around the second week of june.

I second what KCMike said. There were many disappointed people this past June who planned early June trips only to find out it's still considered off season and not everything is running. June is actually very cool. I was there June 11-16 and it was cool/cold every day/night we were there except the last day it started heating up mid day. Earlier in the week I wore a jacket all day long. Depending on where you're from and what weather you're used to, you may find it cold. It gets pretty cool at night. I wore shorts during the day and a blouse but made sure I wore my jacket or had it with me. At night I would change into jeans. Staying at FFI, made it easy to go back and forth to change.
I love the Fairfield Inn and would stay there again in a heartbeat. It's very close walking distance and conveniently located to the restaurants in the area. They also have room service from millies, a Pizza Hut and Seattles Best on site, the room was very clean, and the beds were very comfortable. The walk at night is fine, safe and easy to do. Here is my review w/ photos of our room at FFI.

Oh yeah, and there may be Grad nights going on while you're there. They had them so many days out of the week from end of May through end of June IIRC. (Approximately 1-3 per week I think.) The parks close early on grad nights (9pm).

They are usually one night a week (Thursday - or rather early Friday morning) and sometimes two (Wed/Thu). I have never heard of there being three. For completeness I am re-posting the link I posted earlier in this thread: :)

Yes you're right. I remember them being Wed/Thurs this past June. Sorry I didn't see your link earlier.

We went in June 2007 and it was perfect ( it was 13-15th though I believe). The weather was amazing, the crowds were manageable, and since we stayed through a Friday we still got to see fireworks and the EP.

There was a grad night while we were there but it did not affect us since we didn't have MM (the days were switched) and we left earlier in the evenings w/ our little ones.

We are also planning a trip in June, our's is around the 17th. when do they post the dates for grad nights and park hours?

Grad nights dates are already posted. Refer to the link I provided earlier.

Park hours will not be posted until April or maybe May. Check previous years as things do not change much year to year:

Thanks everyone for your wonderful advice. This will definitely help us plan our trip. Can't wait to go to Disneyland!!:earsboy:
