So we're thinking of hitting up a tour at Disneyland because we have plenty of time in the parks during our stay in Sept (picked up 5 day PH). We were looking at the 'Walk in Walt's Footsteps' and/or 'Happiest Haunts' tour. Anyone ever take either of these? Have any thoughts on them?

I did A Walk in Walt's Footsteps last year and absolutely loved it. I would highly recommend doing this tour as it covers quite a bit of DL history. They give you an audio-set and use it both as a microphone for the guide as well as for audio from the opening of the park, Walt's speech, etc. I really enjoyed that aspect. Lunch was included and the pace was great. You honestly can't go wrong with this tour. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the input! We both really enjoy Disney history, so it sounds perfect.

I did Walk in Walt's Footsteps last July and it was fine. They placed a high value on playing recordings of Walt for you, and frankly that did not do much for me. On the same trip we did the DCA Segway tour which is now on hiatus because of construction and that was a lot more fun.

I booked Walk in Walt's Footsteps for my trip in 25 days! :goodvibes

The reviews are great, but I was very tempted to go for the Welcome to Disneyland Tour, but ultimately decided the Disney geek in me wanted Walt's tour first.

I took the Walk in Walt's Footsteps with my wife. When we went, there was no headsets, just a guide talking. We got a pin and lunch at the Golden Horseshoe, and we were able to go into the Lobby of Club 33. We loved it!

We also did a tour called Mysteries, Myths, and Legends on Halloween one year. I don't know if it is like the Happiest Haunts, but it was fun. We got to walk around the parks after they were closed and ride certain rides. We went on Tower of Terror, the bellhop said "Enjoy your stay.", and we rode the ride. When it was over, the doors opened and he said "Enjoy your stay, AGAIN!" We got to ride it again without even having to get off. When we rode The Haunted Mansion our tour guide was waving at us during the Ballroom Scene. It was so awesome!
